Staying nearby we came across this place on Google maps. What a special couple and place. Having looked at the website and reviews we thought this looked like a place we could bring our daughter to visit animals without funding cruelty. The couple running this place are incredibly commited and caring. They work hard to educate children in schools and the public about animal cruelty - which sadly is rife in the main square of Marrakesh with monkeys and snake charmers. They release whoever they can into the wild and, whilst they acknowledge the situation is not ideal, they try to give the animals who cannot be released into the wild the healthiest and happiest lives they can. They limit numbers so as to minimise stress to the animals but rely on entry and donations as I understand they get no government funding. I hope they can set themselves up as a foundation/charity and get support to help them along the way. Thanks very much and hope the fennec fox had her babies and all are doing well. Laura, Giles...
Read moreThis place is a little gem. Call or text first and they will arrange a time with you. It was only 5km from our hotel but even the hotel events team didn’t know about it. It’s a sanctuary for rescued animals and when we went there was literally no other guests. 2 adults and 1, 3 year old plus soft drinks and snacks was less than £28. Fed the donkey and alpaca, stroked the emu, listened to the birds including the amazing kookaburra that’s was very vocal. To get there is a dirt road through non tourist local residences and the clear poverty and on arrival we felt a little underwhelmed as if we had come to a dirt building site with a playground. But oh boy were we wrong. The place is a charity run by volunteers so don’t expect paved walkways etc. No snakes and mainly birds but amazing none the less. Even has a decent enough play park. A slow leisurely stroll with a drink will be 2-2.5 hours max. We paid at the little cafe at the end of the...
Read moreWe have just returned from a lovely visit to Le Perle Wildlife Park in Morocco. It is a well-run and enjoyable destination for all ages. The park is clean, organized, and set in a peaceful natural environment. It features a good variety of animals like monkeys, birds, and other interesting species, all in well-maintained enclosures that show care for the animals’ well-being.
One of the highlights was the staff – they were really friendly, welcoming, and eager to share information about the animals and the park’s mission. Their positive attitude added a lot to the overall experience.
There’s also an opportunity to feed some of the farm animals, which is especially fun for kids and adds an interactive touch to the visit. With open space, shaded areas, and picnic spots, it’s a great place for families!
