We booked a guided tour through Langtang Ri Trekking & Expedition to do the Langtang Valley trek in December 2024.

We chose the company partly because of Lonely Planets recommendation and due to price and the quick answering time Pafma delivered.

Pafma, the owner, was very quick in her response time which helped us feel secure that they were going to provide us with a good trek. She was very accommodating and nice to us when we arrived in Kathmandu and even stayed later in her office past closing hours just to meet with us. Even when we had to sligthly further reschedule due to our arrival time in Kathmandu.

During this meeting, we also met Shishir, our guide, which made us more secure knowing who we were going to trek with during the next couple of days.

It all made us feel that we had made the right choice by choosing them as our trekking company.

Shishir travelled with us to Say Bu Bresi on a local bus along with Pafma’s daughter (so nice and sweet) who we were trekking with.

After the first day of trekking, we unfortunately got food poisoning. Shishir was very calm and reassuring. We ended up taking a rest day. It was very nice that Shishir remained calm and reassured us that it was still possible to do rhetorical climb but without ever pressuring us to do anything. The third day (our second day of trekking), Shishir carried one of our bags which was not a part of the service that you could expect but very kind and actually also essential to us being able to further trek up the mountains.

We got up the mountain to Kyanjin Gompa and we also took the side trek to Kyanjin Ri with Shishir. He was great all the way through. He was aware of our limited trekking experience, didn’t pressure us, walked according to our pace and was overall everything and more you could expect of a guide to lead you safely up the treks, whichever one you chose.

After our trek, we had to get to Pokhara from Say Bu Bresi (a non-direct route), which means that we had to change local bus somewhere along the way. This can be very confussing and tricky for foreigners not used to the Nepali bus-system but Shishir offered to stop with us to find our bus, even though he was going to Kathmandu and would be able to directly drive back to Kathmandu. This was such a big help to us and just an unexpected level of kindness, helpfulness and service.

Cannot recommend Shishir and Langtang Ri Trekking & Expedition enough. Would choose every time...

We had one of the most amazing experiences in our life thanks to Mansoon and Langtang Ri!

We booked the Manaslu Circuit Trek with Langtang Ri and the communication in the beginning was a bit difficult and we didn't know what to expect.

But everything was great when we arrived in Kathmandu. We were nicely picked up at the airport and brought to our hotel. Because it was very early the owner and our guide met us later that day to explain the plan and get the last necessary things for the trek.

On the next day we started and picked up our porter on the way. We already began to build a great connection to everyone! From there on out the whole trek was a success! It's Mansoon's passion to deliver the best possible experience for you! He will try his best so that you get the best room, will explain everything (his brain must be huge from what he all memorized) and is generally a great person to talk to. He got us over the pass when I didn't sleep the night and felt weak...

The trek in general? Beautiful. Less crowded than Annapurna, more beautiful nature and less disturbed by roads or anything. The food was also surprisingly amazing on the trek!

After the trek we still had one day of sightseeing with Ram which was also great and we saw Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath and Buddha Stupa. If you are in Kathmandu you should visit all of them! Ram was also super friendly and knowledgeable.

Because we weren't too keen on the first hotel we were staying before the trek we asked Langtang Ri if we could have a different after the trek and Pamfa organized it immediately and got us a great hotel in Kathmandu! This was such a nice gesture and service and shows how much they care about their clients.

As a thank you we invited our porter and guide to a goodbye dinner on a rooftop bar and we can just say THANK YOU! This trip wouldn't have been even half as a amazing without you. You made this so special for us and we are forever grateful to have met such...
