For a school project me and my friends asked the staff member by email and by calling multiple times if it was possible to visit the shelter. We needed just a few minutes to take a few pictures and we asked if it was possible but not necessary to ask a few questions to the volunteers. For the project we were supposed to film a documentary and if the work would have been good enough, it would have been presented to many classes and other than raise awareness on animal abandonment perhaps some families would have adopted one or more of their dogs or cats, etc. We only asked for a few minutes of their attention and by looking forward for their replay we even bought treats that we would have liked to share with their pets. They replied that it was a busy season and there was going to be no time for us even trough there was going to be no public use. (even trough the google graph/time line indicated that is not too busy and every time we went it was not occupied). We asked more then a week in advance but they have been delaying the response and we waited until the person in charge of the dog department would give her ok. When they told us that they would let us know as soon as they could the first day of the week, we waited to know if they could let us borrow 3 minutes and 20 seconds for the project. We never received any email and when we tried to ask for explanation and permission for the visit request nobody ever replied. With such a short notice we couldn't contact any other animal shelters and when we called, after waiting a lot and seeing that some of the call were declined, they finally answered and told us that they wouldn't have time to receive us. When contacting the administration they procrastinated the response and they have giving us hopes just to cancel last minute. They were a bit unwilling to contact the public and give adoption opportunities, even when we went to ask in person. Many other countries are promoting new homes to give new opportunities given, since help coming from outside is usually very little. To seize the moment and give the poor animals a chance, they are creating just a few opportunities, also because in two weeks they didn't had even 5 minutes to receive us and reading other reviews we are not the only ones who think so. We hope that the attitude in the events of adoptions is different to ensure that strays are given opportunity for a new life and that this narrow-mindedness was due to short notice and that we are only students and not people that can give house to animals. Anyways we wish the dogs and cats a peaceful future and good luck with...
Read moreAlthough I was not fully involved with the adoption process, my partner was, I just arrived at the end when picking up the kitten, I will share my experience and she will share hers in a different review.
We were looking to adopt a partner for our junior cat for some time. A week ago my partner got wind of this association and decided to give it a try. She completed a form for a different kitten which looked a lot like our tuxedo cat. In a matter of days they got in touch by email letting us know that another family would be adopting him as they will like to adopt in pair with his brother, but we are more the welcome to look for another kitten and/or come by the shelter. Also by email we shared our interest in another kitten( the one we currently welcomed in our family) and scheduled a met up. I was unable to attend but my partner went and from what I understood she had a short interview with a caretaker and then proceeded to meet up with the kitten and others. Nevertheless, the current kitten and my partner, clicked instantly and she decided he is the one that matches our juniors character the best. All the kitten were social and very well taken care of.
Next day we went and picked him up and so far it has been going quite well. The kitten and I instantly bonded, it was clear to me that he was loved, as there was not even a once of fear, accommodated instantly , and confidently started to explore our house like he already owned it.
We are still in the process of getting both the junior and the kitten to tolerate each other, we have our ups and downs, but so far I am pretty pleased with how is it going. This is all I had to say, from my side it was a great experience and from my partners as well. Highly recommended to check out if you are interested...
Read moreI had a very bad experience. I don't recommend this association. They said they would help up with our cats. I asked multiple times if they would bring the cats back, and every time the answer was yes. Today I called again to ask about cats. A lady answered and she said "your cats are so sweet so we decided to give them for adoption" and then she laughed. I don't recommend this association. They are liars. No, it wasn't a miscommunication, it was a lie. As I said I asked multiple times about the returning of the cats. Not even a single time nobody said that this is possible only for feral cats. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have given the cats. They wouldn't have been able to catch the cats without me. I went outside and the cat came into my arms and I put it inside that cage. I betrayed the trust of that cat. I believed ROZE is doing this because they love animals like us, but in reality for them it's just a business like any other. I will come to pay the surgery and everything else was done. I hope this way I can take them back. Unfortunately, adoption is not an option. I tried to keep them inside the house. But they prefer to stay outside. They stay at the window and bag to go outside. They prefer inside only during the winter. But even like this, they received care and love from all of the neighbors and it's unfair that ROZE tries to make money...
