Khoo Thai Takeaway — Local services in Henderson-Massey

I bought a chicken pad thai last night from this take away. Huge portion, however mainly just noodels and sauce (plenty of it). Half of the meat was tofu (?), I thought they must have been running out of chicken and they substituted it with tofu, however I would expect them to let me know before they cook the meal. Seriously just a few pieces of chicken... I understand it's a cheap meal ($11.50) but still... anyway, I gave them a call today becaue I wanted to find out the situation about the tofu; also to give them a chance to explain before I write my review. Apparently they do put tofu in their pad thai (chicken, beef, pork) and this is how every restaurant does it. Interesting! Never have I ever had a chicken pad thai with tofu added to the meal (not even in Thailand). Just out of curiosity I called other 3 thai places to ask about their pad thai dish, they do not put tofu in it. You guys do. That's okay but at least display it on your menu!! Not everyone likes tofu and if someone orders it with chicken then they expect chicken in it, right? My bad that I read the reviews after this incident, most of them really good, however there was one that says that their pad thai tasted like ketchup and had to throw it away after 2 bites..... also there was some coriander leaves in it also, probably some leftover from the...

This was our go to Thai place, Don’t get me wrong the food is very nice, I pretty much get the same thing every time, Yellow curry with no capsicum, and was usually correct and yummy. But they have gotten our order wrong 3 times in a row now. It’s really disappointing and inconvenient. Sometimes it’s the wrong curry and sometimes it’s wrong dish altogether. It seems there is a new girl on the phone orders and it’s been a struggle to get her to understand my order correctly. Tonight, they somehow added on a lot of extra food that I didn’t order and then they even tried to charge me $38, even when I said I just wanted one curry. They were not very nice about it either. We have been ordering to this takeaway restaurant for a long time and quality of food is really good. We usually call then pick up our order. The staff have been always helpful and friendly but recently, we have encountered a staff who was very rude on the phone when she was explaining about the level of spice in one of my food orders. I am not sure maybe it was because of the level of communication that could have affected the way she reacted when I was getting confused with it and even asked to clarify . I've apologized with the confusion while I was on the phone and it's not a pleasant experience to deal with.
