Down to Earth NZ — Local services in Kaikohe-Hokianga Community

I spent few days at Down to Earth and it's been just one of the highlight of my travel in New Zealand. Simon, Nadège, Mitch, Molly & Milo offered me way more than a place to pinch my tent, but a delightful environnement full of plants, flowers, trees, all perfectly designed by Simon (an amazing landscape designer). We shared quality moments together, playing volleyball, hiking cape brett, campfire, and so on. They have also caravans and places for campervans on their land. A wonderful alternative to common backpackers, lodges etc. A huge property with a lot of nature, retreat and nice view over the hills. Ideal for sleeping in the car or tent but cabins are available. You enjoy absolut silence and peace. You can choose between Woofing or a full payment for Accom. We stayed 10 days in down to earth campground and really enjoyed and recommend it since it’s a great alternative to other campgrounds. It’s a very beautiful and unique property with lots of nature, amazing views over the hills, and many cozy places to relax. It is completely off grid and you can see how passionate and creative the owners are about constantly improving the place.
