Would be a really beautiful and gorgeously amazing spot in summer however, Will not stay here again. Quite dissapointing. Needs a huge upgrade. Very outdated. It's a reasonable price but not for what you get. We paid for a cabin for two nights and left after the first. We'd had enough. It rained and our cabin had no cover from the rain meaning that everytime we opened the door, our belongings got wet. The bunk beds in our cabin were as old as the hills, rusty and missing the bolts that keep the roll bar fixed to the frame. Wouldn't want that falling on your head in the middle of the night..Very unsafe! No nets on the door so couldn't leave the curtains open as everyone could see inside. Because it was raining, we could only sit inside our cabin of four walls with the light on and curtains closed all day( room was too dark with curtains closed). Keys needed to open and close front gate and the kitchen with a $20.00 bond. Be prepared to get wet if it's pissing down as there's no shelter while you're unlocking them. The Microwave I used didn't heat the food. One of the jugs wasn't working. There's no ovens available to cook a meal, only really old hot plates which take forever to heat up. We used our gas stove as it was More reliable. You'll need to take everything you need as there is absolutely nothing available. Pots, cutlery, plates etc.... You have to pay extra for Showers as they are powered by tokens that cost 50c each. Even the ice cream fridge in the office is locked. (not the one). Part of customer service is trusting your customers. We met another couple while we were there that were camping. They wanted time away for themselves and were told at reception that they couldn't stay there any longer than 4 days as they (the campsite) didn't allow permanent stayers! They made the comment that they Must've looked like riff raff. Ummmm, there's caravans with gardens that look permanent to me! Before we left, we found them and gave them our shower tokens as we felt sorry for them. We were so disappointed, we traveled to Tauranga late arvo and checked in at a lovely hotel! I won't stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed at Bledisloe Holiday Park in our campervan on a powered site and really enjoyed the great location - itās such a beautiful spot and perfect for exploring the area.
The park has that classic, older-style Kiwi camping feel, which we really liked - nice and relaxed, nothing too fancy. Kitchen had sinks, toasters, microwave, fridges and cooking elements Itās also pet-friendly, which was awesome as we had our dog with us, but a few other dog owners hadnāt cleaned up after their pets. The only downsides were that when you placed a token in the shower I didnāt get any water and some doors were hard to lock in toilets or gaps in door when locked. Overall, though, itās a lovely, peaceful campground in a great location - a true traditional NZ camping experience! Thanks to the team and friendly staff for a great stay. Definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove this campground and compared to others we feel its rates are on pa based on its provisions. The young couple who recently took it over are super friendly and accommodating. This is not a Top 10 but also doesnāt charge as such. Large sites which easily accommodated our Nissan Civillian. Right by the estuary which means 24/7 safe swimming which we took advantage of. Great for my paddle board and friends kayak too. Super quiet at night and feels relaxed and laid back just what we like when going camping. We first stayed in Feb and liked it so much returned a month later. Planning our next break May. Only 1.45 hours drive for us from Taupo and no big hills! Winner...
