If you can visit this place - you must. It is absolutely worth the price. Such a special experience. I visited at night with friends who owned their own craft - but for $85 on a water taxi, entry fee included it is fabulous. There is a free barbecue facility ( multiple) clean and smoke free with lovely wooden tables, benches etc. Pack up a mobile dinner into the chilly bin and head on over , you will not be disappointed. It is very casual, bush tracks and compost toilets, not a venue for the hoipoloi, but rather those who want an authentic and special kiwi experience. There is no glitz or glamour but rather a BYO treasurable experience. No alcohol is allowed at the venue which has huge advantages- our response was to have pre dinner drinks and nibbles on board the boat before entering the 500m zone of...

I really want to keep this a secret and unspoilt but this place and its owners/guardians deserve all the praise they get. It really is a truly magical place and a stunning natural beauty that has been developed within keeping of its natural beauty for all to enjoy. Only accessible from the water, we paddled our kayak there. Just one hour each way and an amazing relaxing soak in the hot pools reward. BYO food for the bbq's or purchase snacks and drinks. No BYO alcohol. $25pp(Adult)for use of facilities is more than fair for this...

Beautiful spot with lake views and nice terraced pools, though 8 out of 9 of them were too hot to get in on this particular day (I know natural springs change over time), and I hear it was super crowded on weekends, so I was well pleased we went on a Monday so there were only 3 boats of people and we all fitted in the one pool that was a good temperature. I really enjoyed my visit, and enjoyed the picnic areas, especially the one moored over the water. Great info boards too. A...

I have to disagree with Nic, 30 dollars actually gets you a lot. A jetty to tie up watercraft, a slide and a jump off point into the lake, more than 6 pools of differing temperatures, BBQ's to use, a shop that sells everything you really need and best of all, you can come and go all day long for your 30 dollars, 10 am to 10 pm. We had a great time and a bit of dialogue with the owner goes a long way to making a good day out for all.

Only accessible by boat or if you're able you can charter a Catamaran and sail the 20 min and really enjoy a great day out it is worth the effort. The pools vary in temperature from comfortable to 45 deg or could be even hotter. Tip, you will smell like sulfur and so will your clothes, I took a swim in the lake in December to rinse off and it was 15 degs but I could still smell the odour. I will be doing this again. I loved it.
