Absolutely Outstanding Service – Highly Recommended!
I originally sent an email enquiry on a bit of a whim, as I couldn’t quite find all the information I needed online — and I had searched high and low across Wellington, contacting numerous storage facilities.
At first, I actually overlooked a follow-up email from National Storage, but thankfully they followed up with a call — on a Saturday, no less — and I’m so glad they did!
I was instantly greeted by Josh on the phone, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. He had all the answers I needed and was so genuine that I decided I had to come check the site out in person. I had already viewed a few other storage places and thought I had made my decision — but that one phone call made me realise I still had options, and better ones at that.
Although I just missed their Saturday opening hours, I stayed in Wellington until Monday so I could visit the site — and honestly, I’m so glad I did. I was warmly welcomed by Tony first thing Monday morning, and she was absolutely lovely! Her cheerful energy and big smile made my day. She went above and beyond to help me, showing me a range of different unit sizes, both indoor and outdoor. No question was too big or too small — the customer service here is truly next-level.
In the end, I chose National Storage Taita over a facility I had actually already signed up for a few suburbs away. The deciding factors? First and foremost, the exceptional service from the staff — they genuinely care. Add to that their competitive rates, well-priced and easy-to-add insurance, and a super secure, tidy facility — it really was a no-brainer.
If you’re looking for a secure, clean, and welcoming storage option where the team is consistently positive and professional — both in person and over the phone — look no further. In my opinion, this is the best storage solution in Wellington.

Read moreI have had a storage unit there since 2016 and all smooth sailing until of late, the staff are incredibly rude, after advising them my bank accounts in Australia have been closed they still tried to direct debit , of course it wouldn't work , but Carol still decided to charge late fees of firstly $11, but in a bitter slap in the face move then after even being told that I would call in and pay following week still tried the direct debit again and another $11 fee ! I noted on the way out to the unit that there is plenty of competition available for storage and I strongly urge you to try them and avoid this place at any cost. Anyway I have been back out and cleaned the rat droppings out of the unit so that I don't get charged for the cleaning as well. Sadly a lot of what I had stored needs to be dumped as the obvious lack of rodent control has caused damage to most of what I had in storage. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THAT YOU AVOID NATIONAL...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to amend my review. Indeera at The Taita Centre was brilliant and took care of me, for that I am grateful. However, both the Refunds team and Customer solutions team at Head office are incompetent. It’s mind blowing how incompetent they are yet still maintain employment which baffles me. I requested a refund of my credit 16 June, today is 20 July and I’m still waiting. This is beyond a joke. After I sent a screenshot of their Refund policy in their terms and conditions the Refunds team contacted me via email a month and a day later 17 July stating my refund has been Approved (no apology) and required my bank account details which I sent that same day. Does it take days to input my information into their system and transfer payment to my account? It’s surreal. I will never use National Storage again and it would be wise for others to avoid them...
