I had the chance to jump on the Rapids Jet recently, and wow what an unforgettable adventure! My plus-one couldn’t make it last minute, but honestly, the experience made it clear: this is the ultimate date activity.

From the very first rev of the engine, my heart was racing. The jet skimmed, spun, and powered through the Waikato with a mix of speed and laughter that’s impossible not to share. Between the Hamilton 360s (which are basically joy in liquid form) and the spray misting my face, I couldn’t help but imagine how much fun it would’ve been holding hands, stealing glances, and laughing through every twist together.

The crew were absolute legends, warm, professional, and safety-first while still keeping the fun alive. You could tell they love what they do, and that energy makes the whole ride feel even more electric.

What struck me most? This isn’t just about adrenaline. It’s about connection. You step off that boat buzzing, not just from the thrill, but from the shared story it creates. I left thinking, this is the kind of memory that sticks. It's the kind you want to tell over coffee or replay with a smile years down the track.

5 stars from me, 1 star from my wife. We have done jet boating before, but unfortunately the front desk lady (blond hair) told my wife that her sunglasses may not be very safe on the boat without telling her that a jet boat going 70kph makes it kind of hard to keep your eyes open without any eye protection. I had glasses, I had a great time, the driver was extremely skilled. My wife couldn't see anything, she was being tossed around without being able to brace herself before each 180 turn, and she came out of it shaken and angry that it was all ruined by the lack of glassess she got talked out of wearing. I was not impressed with that same front desk lady when she didn't seem to care at all when we explained. The owner I talked to later, took the feedback more to heart, although didn't offer a refund for my wife (just another ride that she wasn't going to take after her first experience).

Outside of that detail which unfortunately ruined the experience for us (unhappy wife = unhappy time), they otherwise...
