The Google Maps directions were slightly off for the trailhead, but there's a Surat Bay sign pointing to the right so we followed that. You can kind of see the bay from the car park but need to walk about 250-300 meters along the trail to get to it. The toilets are about 150 meters into the walk, then you walk about another 150 meters along a narrow path overgrown with grasses and small shrubs before coming out onto the beach. From there it's a WIDE and flat beach that you can walk for a long ways. From another reviewer's post, it sounds like you eventually would get to Cannibal Bay. We only walked about 1 mile before turning back. We saw 2 sea lions sleeping on the beach. One of them was HUGE! Beautiful beach, easy to access, and you can walk as far or as little as you prefer.
