Lavender Hill Farm Shop — Local services in Rodney

We had a lovely day at Lavender Hill Farm 🚜

Trish manages the shop 🛍 and is such a friendly face to see first thing as you enter the farm. Jason is an awesome tour guide🧍‍♂️He taught us so many things 😮

We learned about the different types of lavendar 🌿 the most popular being French 🇫🇷 English 🇬🇧 and Spanish 🇪🇸 and which ones are used for perfumes, oils, lotions, and even food 😀 We saw the inner workings of the distillery and how the oils are extracted 👍

We also learned about how gin is distilled 🍷and the diffirent botanics used. The dry gin is made mainly from juniper berries 🫐 They also offer a lavender gin, a beautiful saffron infused gin, a smoked honey 🍯 gin, and a gorgeous sloe gin, and also limoncello 🍋 We had an opportunity to taste test all these lovely gins and limoncello 😋 I think sloe is my favourite 😍

Then we had a bit of education 👨‍🎓about the difference in 🫒 extra virgin, virgin, and normal olive 🫒 oil and how it is harvested

Of course one of the highlights for me was meeting and feeding the alpacas 🦙🦙 They were so cute, calm, and hungry 😀 Don't forget the curious sheep 🐑

What a delightful place to visit. We went to sample Lemoncello, which was sensational, and then, because we were there (and it would've been rude not to 😉😁) we had a wonderful time sampling their delicious range of gins... which I loved....and I don't even like gin!!! We bought a few beautiful products from their well stocked shop, and bonus, were shown around their distillery. Delicious gins! My partner and I have tried the lavender gin, the sloe gin, and the smoked honey gin. I have to say, none of them lasted very long at our house; they are all fantastic. We've also bought a few as gifts and they were well received. We'll be trying any further limited edition gins they release and will be reording the lavender gin.
