I visited this farm today with excitement to purchase my favorite Manuka honey directly from the source—a product I've enjoyed buying from Riverside Market for some time. Unfortunately, my visit turned into a disappointing experience. As I was about to leave with my honey, someone who appeared to be the owner was mowing the lawn and passed very close to my car, resulting in both the front and side being covered in freshly cut grass. When he saw my car completely covered in grass clippings, he made a playful surprised expression rather than showing concern or offering an apology. I simply made a resigned gesture from inside my car and drove away. The more I thought about this interaction afterward, the more upset I felt. Respect and consideration go a long way, especially toward customers who make the effort to visit in person. It was particularly disheartening since I had made the effort to come all this way to support the farm directly. A sincere apology would have made all the difference. I'm sharing this review in hopes that no one else will have to experience something similar in the future.

Googled "bee farm" on my way to Akaroa and stumbled upon Bee My Honey. Great find & memorable experience! Beautiful property with livestock. Honey is sold in their small shop which is usually unattended. Payment is made by the honor system and is available through cash, money transfer, and they even have a unit where you can charge your credit card. So many varieties of honey. My favorites were the rata, honeydew & spicy honey. Samples are also available. I went back a second time and met the very friendly owner. Nothing better than buying honey from the source.

Friendly owner who was patient in dealing with multiple requests for honey! Shop was small but had plenty of honeys for tasting. Set aside at least 30min here to try his 10+ varieties of honey =)

Highly recommended stop over for goodies to take home (Australia)! 🐝✨. Chanced upon Rod who kindly served us and he was helpful throughout (also gave us discount and a gift for purchasing a lot). There was also multiple payment options for overseas visitors (eg. PayPal, official online shop to use overseas cards, cash, etc).

Shop has very good selection of honey in different sizes, and a tasting section to try before purchasing. Good quality and nice tasting honey.

Favourite was the spicy honey, NZ artisan Honey collection (lavender, Manuka, thyme, clover) and of course 600+ MGO Honey!! 🍯 honestly happy with purchases and will definitely recommend to others.

Thank you...
