Wow, Cape Farewell in New Zealand exceeded all of my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the stunning natural beauty of this place. The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking, with rugged cliffs, golden beaches, and crystal clear turquoise waters that seemed straight out of a postcard. One highlight of my visit was the scenic boat tour along the coastline. It was an incredible opportunity to spot seals, whales, and other marine life in their natural habitat. The captain provided interesting commentary throughout the journey, making it an unforgettable experience. I can't recommend Cape Farewell enough to fellow travelers. It's an absolute gem nestled in the stunning beauty of New Zealand. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or just looking to unwind in a pristine environment, Cape Farewell is the perfect destination. 5 stars all the way!"

Beautiful views and no sandflies when I did this in March. Quite a demanding walk if you start from the Wharariki beach end. I went as far as the lighthouse then returned. You can walk all the way to Puponga. Took about 5 hours stopping for lots of photos. Lots of steep climbs and very exposed along the cliffs. Highlight was watching seal Cubs from the top of a cliff playing in a remote beach with a caregiver. Bring lots of water and sun and wind protection.

Absolutely beautiful, only a couple of minutes before Wharariki Beach. Worth a hike up the surrouding farmland to get views out to Farewall Spit, and Wharariki. Probably best to keep any kids well under control as the cliff face is not fenced off, apart from the viewing platform.
