Start from Mount Cook Village end or the DOC's White Horse Hill Camping Area. This is an easy, gently uphill walk. Well marked. The mountains start coming closer. There is a nice viewing platform at the end of the walk.
Plenty of interesting vegetation as you walk. Normal walking shoes are good enough. Be careful on the boardwalk in winter if coming from Mount Cook Village. They can be frosty and very slippery...
