The Kea Point Track is a fantastic and relatively easy hike that offers stunning views of the Mount Cook area. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow, making it suitable for most fitness levels, including families with children. Itโ€™s a short hike, taking around 1 hour round trip, so itโ€™s perfect if youโ€™re looking for a quick adventure.

The scenery along the way is beautiful, with a mix of alpine plants, rugged terrain, and incredible views of the surrounding mountains. The trail also features several information boards along the route, which provide interesting insights into the geology and history of the area.

At the end of the track, youโ€™re rewarded with breathtaking views of Mount Cook, the Mueller Glacier, and the glacial lake below. Itโ€™s a great spot to take photos, soak in the serene atmosphere, and admire the natural beauty of New Zealandโ€™s Southern Alps.

One tip: bring layers, as the weather can change quickly, and donโ€™t forget your camera! The views are spectacular and well worth capturing.

Overall, Kea Point is an easy yet rewarding hike and a must-do if youโ€™re visiting the Mount Cook region. Highly recommended for nature lovers and hiking...

This is a lovely family friendly walk with spectacular views of Mount Sefton, Mueller Lake and Mueller Glacier moraine wall at the end.

Start from Mount Cook Village end or the DOC's White Horse Hill Camping Area. This is an easy, gently uphill walk. Well marked. The mountains start coming closer. There is a nice viewing platform at the end of the walk.

Plenty of interesting vegetation as you walk. Normal walking shoes are good enough. Be careful on the boardwalk in winter if coming from Mount Cook Village. They can be frosty and very slippery...
