Te Miro has some great trails for all abilities, Big Willy is great for beginners and there's plenty of room to expand as your skills grow. So far I've discovered nice flowy grade 3's and the kind of technical grade 4's that put a grin on your face without puckering too many orifices.
One thing you should be prepared for, trails contain a lot of branches and it's not always clear where to go, so patience and an exploratory spirit are probably essential. The starts of trails are generally well marked and so far my choices have always got me out the other end, but it does leave you wondering what you're missing.

There are so many trails and these all link up so you do not get lost. you can go wherever you want at the park. the lake is amazing and there is a dam and bridge over a spillway that you can walk across. the pine trees are very established and there is lots of native forest. there is bike cleaning facilities, a bbq, a bathroom, plenty of parking, and a big park. it is very easy to find, car park is visible from the road. pull in park and go for a walk or a bike ride. different tracks suited for beginner to professional. i highly...
Read moreMost developed mtbing park in the Waikato. The club is doing awesome work developing new tracks all the time. From family rides with the kids to downhill and jump track's, it's got it all.
The club has added plenty of signs recently for those new to the park. Picnic area and toilet adjacent the main car park.
Be ready for a bit of mud in winter.
