5 stars for the views and location 3 for the poor state of the interior. I personally think DOC shouldn’t be allowed to run a property such as this if they can’t afford the proper upkeep. From what I understand is most of the work on this property is done by volunteers and should be commended for all the work they do. The cabin itself is quite basic, solar power with gas stove and heater in lounge. There is absolutely no cell service and the closest reception is at the top of Whites beach access gate but there is a phone on the property for emergencies. The front bedroom has a queen bed and a stunning view, while the back bedroom has 4 bunks and is quite musty smelling. You need to bring sheets and bedding as well as towels. There is no running water in the shower but a camp shower bag jerryrigged to a pulley system, not quite sure this is the best they can do. Kitchen seems well stocked and clean. The toilet is outside and is plumbed so no long drop. The access to the property is through a locked gate which you’ll receive a code. The road is quite steep and loose with some pedestrian traffic and there is a short walk down a steep path to the house from a small parking area. We arrived to find a window broken and the door code not working, turns out the code was the same as the gate and not the one council told us. We found a number on the message board that was better than the AC number and they alerted the Ranger who came out and boarded up the window, glass service can the next morning. The walk down to the beach is a good trek so not for the elderly. There is also a nice trail up the hill behind the house to some...

Amazing place to escape the city, relax and unwind. It's a beautiful beach, very few people there, and Keddle House has privileged access with a much shorter walk to the beach than for the public. It's off grid, so don't expect warm showers, cell reception or mod cons. The walk down to the beach is easy, but it's a small hike back up. Amazing view from...
