The final part of the hike to the caves is very steep, and I would discourage going there when it has rained or when you have poor knees/health/flexibility or a fear of hights. We are both in our 20s and thought the hike was hard, although we did see fit people ranging from an age of 10 to 60(kids below 10 did not do the final part). Don't forget to bring drinks and snacks, since it will take about 2-3 hours in total including taking pictures (the signs about the distance were a bit too optimistic). Excellent hike. Definitely not for first timers and for those who have fear of heights. Last part of the hike was very challenging, will put your upper body strength to test, It was quite steep. There are places where you have climb up and down rocks which are almost 90 degree and you have have few rods to hold on to. Many places the rocks were loose so have to be very careful. This is definitely an expert level hiking.

Heel mooi gebied maar zeker niet zonder risico’s. Het eerste deel via het ‘rode’ pad gaat flink omhoog met veel losse stenen. Het tweede ‘blauwe’ pad naar het topje van de berg is goed te doen. Maar bij natte omstandigheden kan het behoorlijk glad zijn. Dit is nog steeds goed te doen en wanneer je vanaf hier weer terug gaat naar beginpunt dan heb je een mooie hike.

Wanneer je ook het ‘zwarte’ pad wil gaan doen, neem hier dan ruim de tijd voor. Dit is een echt klimgedeelte en doe dit alleen als je goed materiaal hebt, goed voorbereid bent en het niet regent of nat is. Grote stukken van dit klimgedeelte zijn zeer stijl en gevaarlijk. Een foutje en je kan 5 tot 10 meter naar beneden vallen tussen de rotsen. Er hangen wel wat ijzeren handvaten maar deze zijn niet allemaal eenvoudig te bereiken. Zeker bij regen zijn ze ook nog eens spekglad. Zorg dat je op tijd vertrekt en echt ruim de tijd hebt zodat je niet voor onprettige verrassingen...
