Eine erstaunliche Einrichtung ist hier entstanden auf der kleinen Insel Melkøya kurz vor Hammerfest: Ein riesiges Terminal für das Erdgasgeld „Schneeweißchen“, das 140 km von hier entfernt in der Barentssee liegt. Hier auf Melkøya steht die Raffinerie, die alles in Liquid Propane Gas (LPG) umwandelt. Das wird auf Spezialtanker abgefüllt, die das LPG weltweit ausliefern. Großes Lob für die Norweger: Sie haben eine zweite Pipeline von hier zurück gebaut zum Erdgasgeld, um das bei der Umwandlung entstehende CO2 dort zu lagern. Damit wird das LPG deutlich...
