This place is in an amazing location and has all the facilities you need to escape everyday life and/or a standard hotel room for a bit.||We stayed in the storm house and had a nice room at the top with a toilet and view of the lighthouse. We loved the kitchen facilities and lounge room. We stopped at the supermarket (10 min drive) on the way in and got some groceries and made our own dinner and breakfast. It sounds a little silly being excited about making your own meal but I found it enjoyable after living out of tiny hotel rooms and restaurants for a few weeks now. ||At first we were disappointed that it was raining and windy but then it ended up adding to the atmosphere. We were cosy inside and the sounds of the storm, waves and birds outside made it incredibly relaxing. We did some reading, planned our trip, edited some photos, sat by the candle lights, spotted things through the binoculars and took a time lapse of the storm. ||The lighthouse is owned by the government but has a lady staying on site to help look after the place in the summer. Another family also share this role year round and live about an hour away. She drove across to visit us and you pay her with cash. This is because the reception signal isn't the best so the card machine doesn't always work properly. She was lovely and showed us around the lighthouse, helped take photos and spoke to us about the history of the place. We really appreciated her answering our questions by messaging us leading up to the stay and taking the time to drive out and do this for us! ||There isn't a lot to do either than go for a walk and relax so I personally wouldn't stay more than 2 nights. It is also pretty expensive considering you pay extra for towels and sheets and there are no meals included. ||Overall though we did it for the experience and I'm glad we did! ||Follow us on Instagram:...

Read moreI have been to Kråkenes lighthouse several times but this is the first time I did an overnight stay at the lighthouse. This is one of the most exciting places to visit in Norway! I have been here in hurricane with significant wave height around 20 meters and it’s a tremendous experience to stand at a safe distance from the foaming waves studying the frenzied ocean. This time the weather was so nice that it is really hard to believe how it could be in stormy weather. My wife and I loved the beautiful sunset in the ocean and the strong experience of pure nature and deep recreation!||||The Stormhouse which is situated about 70 m from the lighthouse offers five double-rooms in total. Two with their own bathrooms and three with a shared bathroom. The rooms are comfortable and up to standard. The rooms have a shared kitchen and living room area (see attached photos). You have to bring your own food, sheets and towels. There is also a bridal suite at the top floor of the lighthouse. I will highly recommend this suite if you can afford it! It is possible to drive all the way up to the lighthouse.||||Of all the lighthouses in Norway, this is the one which is most exposed to the elements. It also serves as a meteorological station. Hurricane-force winds are regularly reported here. Even standing 42 meters above the sea, waves may reach to the height of the lighthouse itself.||||We also saw sea eagles from really close by during our stay!||||Highly recommended! ||||Regards||Svein-Magne Tunli from...
