Fantastic little hidden gem about an hour out of Oslo. Need a car to get here, parking is a bit so-so, but not impossible to find a carpark. Watch out for the sheep on the road as well, the local farm does not have any fences here - no worries though. The waterfall is not the world’s biggest, but it does all for a great spot to have a swim and a picnic by the water. In the middle of Summer, the water is pushing 20 degrees Celcius and it is definitely a safe spot to swim. There is one rather deep pool by the main waterfall, but otherwise, it is good for kids and people of all swimming abilities. I’ll be back here another time and I recommend this...
Read moreHighly recommended. You probably won't be able to swim much here, but don't worry - dipping in a rapid stream/river is much more fun. Find a place where the bedrock is flat, and get out there. Do take care; rocks are slippery and quite sharp on the edges, and the current is very powerful. You will get hurt if you fall. Children should be supervised...
