First, let me describe the camping site a bit. It's located in the town of Fagernes, about 3 hours and 30 minutes from the capital, Oslo. We took the bus because it was the easiest way to get there. The entire journey was filled with breathtaking landscapes worthy of paintings. I couldn't stop taking photos and videos. Returning to the camping site, it's situated in a beautiful and very welcoming location. The town is very small but has all the necessary amenities to make your getaway unforgettable, including restaurants, a hospital, and supermarkets. Since it was May, the weather was perfect. It wasn't too hot nor too cold. The town also offers many hiking alternatives, a lake for swimming, and much more. Upon arriving two hours before check-in (at 14:00), they provided us with access cards to the kitchen and bathrooms while we waited for our bungalow to be cleaned. We waited by the lake and then in the kitchen. I was extremely impressed by how clean everything was. Everything was spotless. Once the wait was over, they gave us the key, and we went to our bungalow. It was super clean and had everything we needed: kitchen utensils, dishes, glasses, TV, heating. So, I take my hat off to them. We had a fantastic stay and enjoyed the scenery and excursions. The camping site also offers canoeing activities, many activities for children, and much more. So, highly recommended. 5 stars because I can't give more. Also not forget the prices were affordable but we cannot compare them because they vary depending on the season. So was also fair. The staff extremely friendly and people inside the camping were...
Read moreSorry, no. I don't understand all the great reviews either, although these tend to come from camping vans. Yes, the ladies at reception are super nice. The sanitary facilities are clean. The beach is good and it's also good for swimming. Fishing? Well, there's no fish - not a single bite for me or anyone else after hours. No wonder with the noise. Huge campsite with hundreds of pitches for caravans and not even 10 in total (!) for tents. As a result, it gets overcrowded in the evenings and the tents are so close together that you can hear the others breathing. Plus screaming children who don't know how to keep quiet almnost until midnight, motorboats doing their rounds until midnight and motorcycles on the other bank (but it sounds as if they are next door), alarm systems on the cars and other things. You'd be lost here without earplugs. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is definitely the wrong place. Especially for the price (tent for one person - 480 NOK). One star for the ladies at reception, second star...
Read moreI stayed for 2 nights at a camper pitch in front of the waterside. Beautiful scenery, super modern and clean facilities including kitchen, common dining space, shower and restroom/toilet. The kitchen has new electric range cookers and oven, spacious space for cooking and dish washing. Common dining space is well operated and manged to be clean. Shower room has also spacious, clean and neat and toilet is so.
Close to city center, and pave ways for stroll and running around the camp site.
I visited 4 camp sites for this vacation, and this place was the best in the aspect of facility level. I strongly recommend and will...
