I practiced and studied (and actually helped build) this gorgeous temple in Oslo for many years. Lama Changchub is endlessly kind, and the sangha is very helpful. It is a beautiful place by the forest at the edge of Oslo. Really exciting talks there and many guest high lamas visit it, so if you are a serious Vajrayana practitioner or a tourist interested in seeing a real Buddhist temple in Scandinavia, this is definitely a plqce to go to.

Een plek waar de stilte zó dik is dat zelfs Harm zijn gedachten fluisterend kreeg. Ze stonden bij de ingang, omringd door gebedsvlaggen die zacht in de wind ritselden.

Els keek naar haar pols, hield haar Buddha to Buddha-armband omhoog en zei bloedserieus: ‘Zou ik hier iemand kunnen vinden die hem spiritueel kan oppoetsen? Niet met zilverpoets, maar met karma?’

Harm keek naar haar, glimlachte en zei: ‘Misschien, Els. Maar ik denk dat jouw armband al verlicht is sinds hij naast echt leer gedragen wordt.’

Ze wandelden verder, luisterden naar de bel die klonk bij zonsondergang, en Harm dacht: vrede ruikt hier naar wierook, hout… en een vleugje leer van de etsy shop Johnny’s Vintage & Leathers.

Een tempel waar zelfs je sieraden tot rust...
