Vesterålen Tours - Northern Lights Tours, Wildlife Safari And Moose Safari - Private Guided Tours — Local services in Sortland

We did a 2-hour moose safari the other night with the family. We ended up seeing moose in the wild, and it was really spectacular. We really enjoyed the trip and the experience. The only reason why I am not giving it a 5-star rating is that I feel there is an element of luck involved in the process, and I want people reading this to be aware of this beforehand not to be disappointed.

You will be driving with Jens along less-traveled roads where he knows there are wild animals. There you could be extremely lucky and see lots of animals every other minute, or you may need to be more patient and be rewarded in the end with spectacular wildlife. Since there is an element of luck, it might make you uneasy, especially if you were expecting something more templatized.

With this caveat, here are the things we loved about the tours: Jens is really nice and helpful. He genuinely loves spotting animals in the wild, and it shows. This is really unique Jens is also a great photographer and shares with you the pictures he makes with his camera during your tour - a great touch and much better pictures than the ones I was able to make on my own We saw 4 moose and they were not afraid of us, so we could see there during a fair amount of time. It was a magical experience.

Overall - I highly recommend the tour, just manage your own expectations ahead of time, and you will...

A good moment to share a review and some pictures from a magical evening / night in Vesterålen from a couple of months ago. After some frustrating nights trying to witness / experience the Northern Lights myself, too many clouds, other factors (kp values which weren't strong enough) that weren't really good, ...

I then decided to take a tour with Jens Andre Mehammer Birkeland from Vesterålen Tours, and after some hours of hunting and waiting for The Northern Lights to appear (in the cold), I finally saw this magical natural phenomenon with my own eyes, which was so amazing!

Big thanks and shout out towards Jens from Vesterålen Tours, with whom I was already having contact for some months, giving me tips / advise, answering every question a person has ... always very helpful, friendly, ... in all possible ways

Thanks for this great experience , the company, learning me more about it all, the knowlegde / experience and capturing some of these lovely moments with your professional equipment Hopefully we'll meet somewhere again in the future.

If you are in the area and are there in the "right season", for sure would recommend taking and experiencing one of these...

We got picked up at 2.30 by Jens recommendation to do our 4 hour moose safari. Before we started he asked us what we would like to see and picked our route accomodating our wishes. He was very knowledgable and kind and told us a lot about the wildlife, the community and environment.

We saw a ton of great animals that Jens pointed out to us, stopping the car and letting us pick the pace. Countless moose, hares and even an owl crossed our path.

All in all an incredible and unforgettable trip that we would both recommend and consider doing again...
