I cannot believe what has become of this once-beloved playground. Formerly known as Eventyrfabrikken, this place was a magical haven for children—now, under the new management of Fun Plays, it is nothing short of a shambles. The transformation has been catastrophic.
Gone are the days when kids could freely explore multiple floors, thanks to the complete removal of play areas on the second and third levels. Even the popular electric cars that once delighted our little ones have vanished. What’s even worse is that during our visit this weekend, the notorious ball-shooting area was nearly deserted because nothing was operational. Three trampolines, which should have been a staple of any fun playground, were closed off, and several corridors that allowed free movement for kids were cordoned off, creating a restrictive, uninspiring mess.
This isn’t just a minor hiccup—it’s a total abandonment of the facility’s core mission. The new owners clearly have no respect or vision for this community asset; it’s as if they’re intent on dismantling it piece by piece. To make matters worse, the facility was uncomfortably cold and downright filthy, leaving us to wonder if there’s any genuine effort to maintain or revive the place.
In short, Fun Plays isn’t just failing to live up to its promise—it’s actively erasing the legacy of what was once a magical playground. One has to ask: do the new owners actually care about this place, or are they just speeding it toward an inevitable shutdown? I’ve been to Leo’s Lekeland and MegaFun a few times before, but this place beats them hands down. It’s enormous and the space is used really well - intricate and engaging mazes and jungle gyms that are challenging for kids and adults alike. It’s well maintained and you can tell they spent quite a bit on the design of the place, including the dinosaurs (which are huge) and painted in a believable way.
It could have used more staff at times, but guess it’a a covid related thing. I learned while I was there it’s Norway’s largest indoor playground.

Det var en del kø og det gikk fremover i sneglefart. Til vurdering: hvordan kan personalet jobbe smartere for at køen skal gå raskere? Ungene ønsket slush, softis, og nuggets, hvorav restauranten ikke hadde noe av dette. Hvorfor? Når dette er produkter man virkelig bør ha tilgjengelig i en restaurant som dette. Jeg bestilte to brus og tre menyer, uvitende om at drikke fulgte med menyene. Jeg ble servert tre kopper (til menyene), de 2 brusene jeg bestilte og betalte for fikk jeg aldri. Det var gått skall av all servise vi benyttet. Til vurdering: finnes det ikke noen rutine på å kassere dette? det er små barn som benytter seg av dette som fort kan skjære seg. Jeg ønsket å benytte doen i restauranten. Der stod det to fra personalet å pratet. Disse skulle tilsynelatende vaske toalettene. De blokkerte inngangen og jeg antok at de hadde stengt toalettene eller at det var fult. Men slik var det ikke. De separerte seg etter en stund og det var mange ledige toaletter. Det mest fascinerende var personalet i restauranten. Det var ikke ett smil å spore. På en restaurant hvor barnefamilier er klientellet ser jeg for meg at man skal bli møtt av god service, ett smil og god service. Halve restauranten var avsperret. Jeg kan forstå at det er lite fristende å ha et stort lokale åpent med tanke på at det er større område å rengjøre nå når det kanskje er mindre gjester enn vanlig. Men i disse tider hvor det oppfordres til at vi sprer oss og ikke skal sitte oppå hverandre så skjønner jeg ikke hvordan man kan halvere arealet til sitte-områder. Ungene ønsket is. De valgte en is som kostet 30 kr pr. Ekspeditøren i kassen slo inn 33kr pr. is.
Jeg jobber selv med opplæring og rutiner og synes det vitner til dårlige rutiner i restauranten. Hva kan man gjøre for at de ansatte skal være fantastiske? Så fantastisk at jeg får lyst til å komme tilbake? Hva må gjøres for at kundene ikke sitter igjen med den...
