Our trip with Mr. Bakhit was top notch. Let me start by saying how punctual he is! If he says 10 o’clock, then it is 10 o’clock!!

He took us for a city tour around Salalah to see Sultan Qaboos Mosque, Al Baleed museums and ruins, fruit market, Dahariz and Hafa Beach and the traditional Omani souq, and ended the day by buying us dinner as part of Omani hospitality.

The second day he took us to the Eastern side of Dhofar. We went to see Darbat water fall, Wadi Darbat, Samhan peak, gravity point. He’s also flexible, we requested a last minute addition to our initial plan (a visit to Mirbat City and port which adds roughly 90 minutes to the trip plus a 30 minutes lunch break so a total of 2 hours) and he was kind enough to accept, despite the very short notice.

I had an unforgettable time in Salalah thanks to the organization of the trip by Bakhit and his family. I spent two very interesting days in the region. Bakhit showed me the city of Salalah and its main sights such as Sultan Qaboos Mosque. In addition, he organized for me excursions in the surrounding area so I had a chance to visit the waterfalls of Wadi Durbat during the wet season as well as the rocky coastline of Mughsail. It has been a great experience travelling with Bakhit since he is from Salalah so he is very knowledgable about local culture and history. I have enjoyed listening to his stories and trying the local cuisine.
