. The place offers everything that is needed for a memorable family day. It is one of the most visited valley in Dhofar. . A visit to Salalah is not complete without a visit to Wadi Darbat.

Wadi Darbat is near Taqa, a beach town in Dhofar Region. This wadi is located on the left side on the road to Tawi Attir. . . The valley is in its pristine condition. The trees and the lake makes this place look amazing. Occasionally you can see camels, cows and other animals passing by, grazing on the natural grass and plantation . . . . The spring is at the end of the road leading to the Valley. This is the biggest lake in Salalah and is wet all year round. However in Khareef season , the lake is surrounded by green mountains and cloudy weather, which making boat rides irresistible. . . There are several restaurants and huts that sell food, fruits, sweet corns, pop corns and other refreshments. . We can also bring eatable items from home or any other commercial market on the way. . . Get ready for barbecue. . There is no other better place to have barbecue in the region other than Wadi Darbat. In this place it is easier to do BBQ grill. Try to bring a the marinated meat, fish thats ready to grill and enjoy the BBQ. . . At places we can get fresh goat's 🐐 milk and camel 🐫 milk that will quench the thirst. . . Their are water falls. . At times bit slippery so be carefull. . Boat riding. .

. Make sure you always carry towels to dry ur head and body if especially visiting wadi darbat during the Khareef season, since it's always wet and drizzling. . . Additional covers to keep muddy footwear,and wet clothes . . The road is winding around...

If you stay in Gulf anywhere, tired of watching computer screens, brown landscapes, dry lands; then visit Salalah during Khareef season. Believe me this is going to recharge you for next spell of struggle of life. We visited Wadi Darbat in September 2016. By the time Khareef season was almost started saying goodbye for the year. But still you can see lot of greenery all around. When we started entering the Wadi it impressed all of us and we progressed through the hairpin bends though all over we could see only greenery besides the road. That was Amazingly Beautiful and capable enough to rejuvenate the tired eyes and souls. We stopped on the side of road and went little deep into the Wadi. There lies a river with very clean water (you can see the riverbed easily), Still the humanity with their polluted approach has not infiltrated into it. Reason being no one is allowed to swim in wadi, Good for the river. The wadi is full of green vegetation of many kinds. Its a paradise for bird watchers and nature photographers too. When we drove down to the end point of wadi (actually end of access for cars, not end point for wadi), we saw some boats available for boating in river on hired basis. If you are travelling with kids a must do activity for you. kids will surely love it. However, we preferred to take a small trek to other side of river, which was not too difficult, except some slippery spots. We enjoyed it. After you end the trek you find yourself in a plain area with shrubs all around. Relax near river, it will be a lifetime experience. Believe me I did not wanted to leave the place but my friends forced me to continue our Salalah tour, hence I had to leave. I recommend the place strongly...
