Miranjani is one of the three renowned hiking attractions near Nathiagali (Galiyat Mountains). Ranking from easy to hard would be "Pipe Line Track" that takes you to Ayubia from DongaGali. Recommended for all family members. Second is Mushkpuri Top. This Trek is little harder, but families do go there with children. It offers lush green scenery, a meadow, once you reach the top. you can also find some tea, biscuit stalls.
Miranjani is different. A unique experience. Trek is so quite and so serene with majestic views of Galiyat mountains around. Although it is not, the trek seems milder as one can see long stretch of trek in front. At places, instead of having mountain wall on one side and a ditch/abyss on other, slopes on both sides of trek grow milder and it feels you are trekking in a jungle not on mountain! I went for trekking on first week of October with clear blue sky and pleasantly cold breeze! good time to go for trek like this. It is highly advisable to start trekking in the morning, may be 9-10, so that you can come back easy by evening long before sunset.
For amateur like me, it took little more than 3 hours to reach at top. Do keep a bottle of water and something to eat, like biscuits etc. I would say Miranjani is not for families. One need to be energetic and trekking enthusiast and it worth going out there. Contrary to Mushkpuri, you won't find a large Meadow up there but being a highest peak among Galiyat mountains, you would feel at the top of the world when you...
Read moreMiranjani Top is one of my favorite places to visit in Nathiagali, Thandiani. It is situated on the peak of Nathiagali hills adjacent to Nathiagali bazar near the Thandiani-Abbotabad road. The total hike from Nathiagali bazar to the Miranjani top is about 3 hours but if you hire a pickup from Nathiagali bazar to the starting point of the trail then it will take almost two and half hours to reach the peak. Better is to collect some snaks, biscuts and especially water from Nathiagali bazar and reach to the starting point through vehicle because the trail is a bit steep in some places and it gets deficult for those who are not used-to hiking. Again, I suggest to take food items with you because you wouldn't control your hunger upon reaching to the top after hiking and the local sellers residing on the mountain top will charge a huge amount for the items you want to purchase from them. Also it is advised to check the weather condition before starting the hike because continous rainfall and storm can affect your tour in a bad way(you can't trust on weather there). Better to start your hike as early as possible because you can face a dark situation upon your return if you get late. The peak is beautiful with full natural environment, tall tree trunks, amazing meadows with a soft music of birds voice. I recommend it...
Read moreIF you want to do a hike that is manageable, has a proper trail for almost the entirety of it, all with gorgeous view from the top, this is your hike.
Having done Mukshpuri hike the previous day, I was tired/fatigued, but wanted to make the most out of my Nathia trip.
I had heard that this hike was a bit more manageable as compared to Mukshpuri, and it sure was. You don't need any gear really to do this hike. Since I am used to hikes, i'd say this was definitely a hike that i would consider going to if I didn't want something as challenging, especially compared to Mukshpuri.
It is nicer as well since it is not as crowded, and at the peak there isn't as big a crowd (e.g., vendors). The view from the top was gorgeous. Make sure you go beyond the antene-post a little bit so that you can get a clear view from the peak.
It took me about 90 min to get up there, and about 70 min to get down, but I was going at a faster speed, without any real stops. I'd recommend taking 4 hours out of your schedule for this if you are going as a family, so you can enjoy the views etc, and take rest. The earlier in the morning you go, the better. I went at 8:30 am on a cloudy day, and...
