Chakdara fort is located on the bank of River Sawat just after crossing the Churchill bridge. It was built by Mughal empire to protect the area of Chakdara that has geological and trade value due to its connections and routes to different parts of Pakistan.
It is currently under army administration and use. They have many rooms reserved for Army guests while visiting the area. The architecture of the building is very well maintained and redesigned on the old pattern.

For entry, reference with army/FC is needed. The staff is professional and refreshment/snacks are available on payment. Furthermore, there are guest rooms which can be booked. Furthermore, the view of swat river is the best spot of the fort where one can sit and enjoy the calm river.
