I am on a visit from the California. For reasons beyond anyone’s control, I had to have my heart pacemaker replaced. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Aamir Hameed, a cardiologist on staff.

We both agreed that the procedure had to be done, personally I was not comfortable with embarking on a long journey back to Los Angeles, where I would have received both the Boston Scientific pacemaker and the hospital cost for free.

There are really no words to use to praise Ferozesons, the pharmaceutical agency for Boston Scientific in Pakistan, they very efficiently were able to import and provide me with a new device.

My cardiologist and I had a meeting two days before the procedure, where we discussed the procedure, as this was the 5th pacemaker that I was about to get.

I got my first four pacemakers all in California, between 1989 and 2016. The average battery life for me has been 8 years.

The procedure usually should take not more than 45 minutes, but mine took more than 4 hours, as Dr. Aamir Hameed, patiently and meticulously dissected and removed as much scar tissue, as possible make a new pocket in my chest wall for the implant.

The Cath Lab, the pre-operative care, and the O.R, were up to world standards. After the surgery with a brief amount of time in recovery, I was shifted to a room on the 4th floor.

The room was comfortable and comparable to Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, Whittier Hospital in Whittier California and San Antonio Hospital in Upland California. I was discharged after a 1 night stay at the hospital.

You may be wondering, after all this why I only chose to give a 4 star rating. The plain and simple answer is, no place is perfect, either in Karachi or in any part of the world.

I would strongly recommend this hospital in Clifton, Karachi over any other hospital in the city. Their Emergency Room is the best in the city.

I happened to visit , i did not see any kind of facilities for the people on humanity grounds, it was a overcrowded market where people sitting and standing in hot place to get their health problems solved ,nowadays even supermarkets have better places where visitors can wait or walk everyone was in hurry, the administration people were strict and won't like to talk more if the people don't submit money, administration were confused just to satisfy their seniors, security people were highly inoperative and on occasions they behave very rudely to make other feel that WE ARE THE SECURITY, one security rather than helping a family he shouted on the family who wanted to keep her daughter on the couch for 05 min in secure place, that security shouted at the family that DON'T TALK MUCH AND GO FROM HERE, There are no ethics just PAY FIRST AND GET YOUR THINGS DONE AND GET LOST, there was no proper waiting place just a main hall and it was non AC and was so hot due to overcrowdness also, there wasn't any proper waiting place for families, I did not see professionalism and ethics everyone seemed like confused at...

15th Ap2022, my mother went through hip bone surgery by Dr Imtiaz hashmi. Please do not get any kind of surgery from him he is a butcher. My mom is 70 years old and knowing age factor he should know by experience that implants have high chance if failure but he still went with a 3:30 hr surgery and after two weeks indicated that the implant has Cascade due to less bone density and now as of 11May22 they have advised another surgery hip replacement. Allah tum logoon ko pochay. Please save your parents from this torture. Until now total cost is close to 1million for both surgeries.
