Hawksbay in Karachi is a popular beach destination that offers a mixed bag of experiences. Here is an overview based on my recent visit:
Cleanliness and Environment: The beach is notably neat and clean, which makes for a pleasant and enjoyable visit. The natural beauty of the area is well-preserved, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere.
Tides: If you're planning a trip in July, be prepared for high tides. While this can add a bit of excitement for thrill-seekers, it’s essential to exercise caution, especially if you're visiting with children.
Hut Prices and Accommodation: One of the downsides of Hawksbay is the cost of renting a hut. At around 12,000 PKR per hut for twelve hours, the price is quite steep. However, if you're looking for a more affordable option, tents are available and can be a viable alternative.
Parking and Facilities: Finding parking can be challenging if you haven’t rented a hut. The beach lacks additional facilities, which can be inconvenient. There are horse and camel rides available, adding some fun activities to your visit, and you might occasionally find a tea hawker.
Crowd and Amenities: One of the perks of Hawksbay is that it’s not overly crowded, so you can enjoy a relatively peaceful time. However, it's important to bring your own food and refreshments, as there are no dining options available on-site.
Changing and Refreshment Facilities: A significant drawback is the lack of facilities to change clothes or freshen up after spending time in the water. This can be quite inconvenient, especially if you have children or plan to stay for an extended period.
Conclusion: In summary, Hawksbay offers a clean and serene beach experience with some exciting activities like horse and camel rides. However, the high cost of huts, lack of facilities, and need to bring your own food and refreshments can detract from the overall experience. It's best suited for those who are well-prepared and looking for a quiet beach outing away...
