Khunjerab Sar I — Local services in Upper Hunza Tehsil

Visited in July 2017 and again in July 2018. In 2017 we met a cold weather with overcast sky. We couldn't see any snow covered peaks on our way from Gulmit to Khunjrab due to clouds & fog. At Khunjrab there was even some snowfall. So we kept shivering, couldn't see much & tried to go back to our coaster for warmth & shelter. In 2018, the weather was clear, so on the same route we had a very different scene. There were snow capped peaks and glaciers clearly visible. Wonderful! In peaks we could see Batura Muztagh peaks like Shisphare Sar, Batura Sar, Ultar Sar, the Passu Glacier (missed Batura glacier 😒 due to our tour operator's naivety) On the other side we saw Tapupdan peak (behind Passu cones) Chapchingal sar. Jurjur peak st Sost. Khunjrab sar and it's glacier and other peaks at Khunjrab pass. We saw Yaks, these were also available for ride. We took lunch items from a mobile food service truck. Absolutely breathtaking experience at Khunjerab Pass

Visited this stunning place, and I was amazed by the majestic mountains, fresh air, and the serene beauty of the Pakistan-China border.

The drive up the Karakoram Highway was smooth and scenic, with snow-covered peaks surrounding us. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and a proud moment to showcase Pakistan’s natural beauty and hospitality.

Highly recommended for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and anyone looking to experience the grandeur of northern Pakistan.
