Saidpur Village Road offers a charming countryside experience, especially at night, with a food court and the soothing ambiance of Rabab eco echoing in the mountains. Open restaurants with traditional seating arrangements enhance the atmosphere. While the village has historical significance, it has undergone modifications over time. Various hotels provide a diverse range of options for families and friends to enjoy.
The area boasts a rich history and heritage in the form of a Hindu Temple, a Sikh Gurdwara, and a Dharamshala and a old mosque. The entrance wall, made of mud, exudes a genuine village feel near the capital. Despite the closure of the main building for unknown reasons, you can explore the exterior, visit a few temples, and indulge in Desi cuisine at a lavish restaurant.
Saidpur Village, with its heritage importance, is undergoing numerous government construction projects. Nestled on the slopes of Margalla Hills, this village, over five centuries old, captivates visitors with its history and charm. Read moreOMG, how are people calling this a tourist destination?!! It is NOT! It's a run-down part of Islamabad that people have glorified. When we got there, I genuinely thought we had to continue walking to find the “charming street (!!!!!!) with lodging, dining, and shopping” since this place was dilapidated, dirty, and unmaintained. The few shops that were there had a thick layer of dust on every item and in general, the shops were run down and shabby. At this point, I still thought we were at the wrong location and was looking for the "charming street"; had I known this was the main Saidpur Village road I had so read about, I would have taken pictures to share with Google! Islamabad, the Capital of Pakistan, I am incredibly disappointed! This isn't a place to show to tourists; it's a place to hide from tourists! Once again, I learned that reviews in Pakistan aren’t accurate due to Pakistan's...
Read moreThis road will lead you to the oldest village of Islamabad called Saidpur Village and then saidpur Trail Margalla Hills Islamabad
Hiking Trail start point is when you cross the narrow streets of Saidpur village.
Families can go with hiking group, not recommend alone. Water is available in first half. Bushy areas and dense forest in second half with little steep area.
That trial is almost 2.4 KM and will end almost 600 m before Monal at Pir Sohawa road. You can also reach Makiyala peak ( Saidpur view point) from this trail directly.
Main problem is parking 🅿️. No specific parking available for hiking trail. Although you can park any where in the restaurant parking without telling them where you going. All the parking lots are owned by food outlets. If you parking somewhere in the village it will be safe 90%
