Aside from the nice woman managing this place in the absence of her brother, the actual owner, this was a disaster. Our $79/night got us: cracked front and back doors, torn window screens, some windows that wouldn’t open, no potable bottled water provided, inconsistent hot water in the shower, a microwave whose door broke on the fifth day, a washing machine at least 35 years old that didn’t function, a bathroom soap dispenser that fell off the wall whenever we touched it, someone else’s bar soap left in the shower when we arrived, and, best of all, ancient, worn, and mismatched pots and pans. I’ve stayed in campgrounds that had better facilities. Also, it’s located far from Boquete town, about a 10-15 minute drive. Taxis into town are not easy to get from the area. Our cabin had an amazing view of the volcano and came equipped with microwave, stove, kitchen utensils, washing machine, tv, internet, parking space etc. The owner greeted us with a warm smile and two cold beers when we arrived and continued to check on us throughout the week. He is very personable and speaks English. Him and his wife treated us like family and insisted on driving us to the main bus terminal in David (25 minute drive one way) on Christmas Day...opposed to us taking the school bus.
