I joined a coffee tour today and am so glad that I cancelled the pre-booked tour from the hostel and went for this one! Amy, our guide is Panamanian and therefore knows and shares different points of view on the coffee industry. You learn about the coffee plant, its characteristics and the different types (it’s not only about Arabica or Robusta!) , growth, cultivation and the specific qualities of this area, then processing the beans and here too, different possibilities, some more eco friendly than others. You will get a lot of knowledge about the coffee industry itself, about farmers in Panama, about indigenous people, about big coffee concerns and the world market and is eye opening on many levels. This farm stands for social working conditions, fairness to the fruitpickers and their families and tries to be as much environmentally friendly and Ressource oriented as possible. What I take with me is not only which taste of coffee I like the best and the different methods of brewing but also where to look for good coffee in terms of direct trade and human connection. Thank you for the almost three hours of your time and sharing all your knowledge! And for the hassle about Geisha coffee- I liked it during the tasting- but yeah it’s only my personal...

We recently took a tour fantastic tour of the finca with Amy. She explained the production process from start to finish but the most interesting part of the tour was the emphasis on sustainability and equity throughout the coffee supply chain. We loved hearing about their work with smaller nearby coffee producers that do not have the same resources and work with the local community.

The finca is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed a lovely walk through the grounds followed by her assistant tour guides - a group of friendly dogs that want nothing more than to go for a walk and eat avocadoes.

Following the explanation and tour, we had a coffee tasting on their patio overlooking the grounds and mountains. As we were there during low season, we got a private tour allowing her to tailor the tasting to our preferences.

Would recommend to anyone coming to Boquete looking for a coffee tour. The nearby fincas do similar tours but I doubt others will place the same focus on...

I am glad that I found all the positive reviews of this cafe tour, helping me deciding what to go for. And I definitely made the right choice. Finca Dos Jefes were the first to provide cafe insight tours in Boquete and they will take you all the way from growing coffee plants to harvesting, roasting, up to the different smells and tastes coffee can possess throughout the process. Additional Amy, who was our excellent knowledgeable guide, speaking perfect English, and loving all about coffee and the people producing it, provided many background information on the coffee business, globally and in Panamá specifically. Although not everyone will become a coffee plantation owner after the tour (I promise you it to be very tempting after all the smells, touch and taste), you will never buy and drink coffee the same way as before. Very suitable for children, too. Thanks to Amy...
