Isla Mamey — Local services in Colón

My family visited this Island and it was very beautiful. However we were trying to snorkel with family. The time was March 24th and the waters were very dangerous. There is no life guards, no signs stating dangerous rip currents. 6 of us were caught in a rip current and pulled into danger from shallow waters. No one came to our aid from the island. Another customer came to our rescue and called for a boat that just happened to be passing by. The boat pulled us to safety. I'm afraid we would have died had it not been for the boat that happened to pass by. When we got back to the beach after literally fighting for our lives. An employee told us next time take a float. No one was empathetic to our near death experience and just watched while we were fighting...

Es una isla preciosísima sólo una parte de ella tiene acceso de playas limpias en la noche Es tranquila para acampar pero hay que tener cuidado porque es sumamente desolada si llueve no hay tienda de campaña que aguante la lluvia y te sueles mojar en el día los fines de semana se vuelve como Hormiguero no te no te das cuenta cuando empieza a llegar toda la gente de temprano mañana hasta la tarde y se llena realmente para aquellos que les gusta pasar un buen rato compartir con amigos hacer barbacoa porque hasta las barbacoas cargan se pasa bien por $5 por persona los niños gratis si llevas tienda de campaña son $15 Perdón son $5 por persona por noche tiene que llevar de esos y toda tu comida bebida allá no hay agua ni para bañarse tiene que quitar la arena y eso como tú puedas y deje llevar tu agua para tomar todo tus comestible inodoro son medianamente decente la comida toda te la tienes que preparar allá no hay nada donde tú puedas comprar absolutamente nada algunos de los lanchitas te dan el servicio que si tú quieres tú puedes pedir comida en las áreas por allí de la costa y que te la los comerciantes y te la traes y tú pagas el flete pero no siempre son accesibles la señal de teléfono celular es buena en las madrugadas algunas veces pasan yates por la orilla que hacer fiesta en altamar y el mente no se puede dormir pero fuera de eso es algo bonito se escucha con mucha mucha intensidad del mar Eso sí para pasar la noche estuvimos en una ocasión donde se hicieron sesiones fotográficas para bodas y fue realmente hermoso Yo volvería en el...

This is a wonderful spot to relax. The ocean is clean, perfect for snorkeling and watching corals. There’s plenty of shade and trees, and the beach itself is clean with an easy, comfortable entrance into the water.
