This review is a long time coming. My partner and I sailed with Marcos on ‘Celebration’ in the San Blas islands at the end of December 2024.

What an amazing vacation it turned out to be! The entire experience from booking till we left the boat was fantastic. While booking we were communicating with Fabiana and she was the most responsive person I have worked with even though she herself was on her own boat in the San Blas islands perhaps welcoming guests! There was never a time when my question was not answered and the entire booking process was a breeze.

The journey to San Blas islands from Panama city was smooth too! We got picked up at our AirBnB in Casco Viejo and were taken to the dock from where we boarded a boat which took us to ‘Celebration’ and Marcos was ready for us.

The boat itself is amazing. We were the only two guests on the boat and Marcos took care of us from the time we embarked till the time we left. He knows the area very well and all the days that we were on the boat, we were taken to an island which we had for ourselves, just the two of us. What a treat that was. On top of that Marcos is an amazing host and a cook. He cooked fresh seafood (as you can imagine) every meal.

Once I let him know that I was not comfortable in water he was extremely helpful in making sure that I was comfortable when we went snorkeling. He knows the places for amazing snorkeling and took us there. I trusted him to be around and making sure I was not getting into any trouble as my open water swimming skills are mediocre at best. My partner is very comfortable in water and so Marcos took her on longer snorkels and she had a blast.

The evenings on the boat were fun! Music, cerveza and amazing food. We had fresh fish grilled, fresh lobster and salads and vegetables. One day he even made us some delicious Moqueca and he even had dende oil from Brazil to make it.

We spent two nights on Danilo and Fabiana’s sailing boat, and it was just amazing. They are the best hosts ever. They opened their home (they live on the sailing boat) and made sure we had a gorgeous experience. San Blas is an incredibly beautiful island, with crystal-clear waters, and thanks to Danilo and Fabiana, we were able to enjoy a private island that made our second honeymoon truly special.

Danilo, the captain, and Fabiana, who I can easily call a cuisine chef, provided exceptional hospitality. The food Fabiana cooked could easily be featured in any highly-rated restaurant, with fresh fish and lobster being highlights. During the afternoon, we enjoyed an amazing sunset view from the front of the boat, accompanied by glasses of wine. We also had a “Chandon moment,” where we found ourselves on a paradise island, enjoying sparkling wine in perfect tranquility.

It’s true that the journey from Panama City to San Blas is a bit tiring and long, but once you arrive, it is completely worth it.

Such a magical experience! Not only you find yourself in paradise, but also Fabiana and Danilo are delightful, enjoy amazing cooking and they fill in so many details to make every moment even more special. We spent time on different island, walked, paddle, used a hammock that Danilo hang from the trees, sailed cruise, to anne a few. Snorkeling was incredible through coral reef with tons of colored fish, a manta ray, barracuda and star fish on shore. It is worth the trip for sure, best if you are adventurous and exercise patience before arrival. Best to come with an open mind to a “tropical” journey through the rainforest of Panamá before arriving at the Guna (pronounced “kuna”) tribe’s port, which is as rustic as it can be … yet very safe and the transportation team makes it work to the boat.
