Hacienda Mamecillo Boquete, Panamá. I highly recommend you visit this beautiful place, Rolando and his wife Gabriella are the most amazing hosts, we did the personalized cloud forest hike, guided by Rolando himself, while enjoying the breathtaking views, wild life, waterfalls and fauna, Rolando explains to detail about the nature and the region as you explore and hike through the beautiful rain forest. After the tour they treated us to an amazing 5 course meal that they personally prepare from their hacienda resources. We found Hacienda Mamecillo on a National Geographic documentary, Panama’s Cloud Forest Kitchen, Restaurants at the end of the world, we booked directly through their website, they tailer to your preference of food and what intensity of hike you desire. The hospitality they offer combined with the majestic nature and amazing food, this place truly it is a must visit, we will be back again for sure. I give Hacienda Mamecillo the highest recommendation, this is an experience you do not...
Read moreWe had the best day at Hacienda Mamecillo, and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Rolando and Gabriella were beyond gracious hosts. From the dirt road journey to the farm, to the beautiful cloud forest hike where Rolando knew about each and everything we saw, to eating all kinds of berries and vegetables straight from the vines (some handpicked by Isabella for us), to meeting the happiest looking farm animals, to the amazing multi-course lunch and coffee tasting, the day will go down as one of our favorite memories and experiences. Eating in their home felt like catching up with old friends, even though we had just met Rolando and Gabriella and their children. As much as I wish their farm remained like a secret club for the dedicated willing to take the road less traveled, we wish them much continued success so they can continue spreading their mission of more sustainable food/farming. We highly recommend this experience — it will surely become one of your favorite...
Read moreMy experience with this company was rather frustrating. However I cannot completely blame them as I did have a fault in communication as well.
I initially reached out on 06/16 through email received a response saying, ”Your booking request 2025-07-04 has been received and is now being processed“(Mamecillo). So naturally I assumed it was set and I had a reservation and kept a lookout for further details. On 06/27 I received another email asking for further details and responded on 07/02. On 07/04 we travel to the farm to find out they weren’t doing tours that day and that they didn’t check emails often and that WhatsApp is better for communication. So we send a message for Sunday, 07/06, and the message was read and received no reply.
Obviously communication is the key problem here and it was very frustrating considering I’m an international who was looking for a once in a lifetime opportunity and never got to...
