Amazing Huayhuash Official — Local services in Independencia

We had a great trek with Amazing Huayhuash! Everything was well organized, and it was clear from the start what was included and what wasn’t. The sleeping bags were warm enough for the cold nights, and the rest of the equipment was also solid.

Our guide Victor really made the trip: always smiling, helpful, and just generally great to be around. Hugo and Felix, Chino and Edgar took were also really friendly.

One thing the could be improved is the food. Some dietary needs weren’t properly taken into account. One of the girls in our group can’t eat gluten, but still got gluten-containing meals and snacks multiple times, even though this was promised to be no problem by Pepe beforehand. I’m vegetarian and sometimes missed protein in the meals, when the rest got meat.

If you have specific dietary needs, I’d recommend discussing it clearly with Pepe before the trek so you know what to expect, or that you can may be bring food yourself if needed. Other than that, it was an...

I can’t give a more positive review of my experience with Amazing Huayhuash. Pedro was amazing handling all communications and logistics prior to departure, and he even let me borrow a warm jacket because he knew mine was not big enough and did not want me to have to buy a new one. He grew up in the actual Huayhuash cordillera and you can tell he truly cares about each of his customers enjoying the nature he loves so much. He even invited our whole group to his house after the trip to have pizza and drinks. my guide Maria was sweet and amazing throughout the whole trek as well as the cooks and multeteers as well. We woke up every morning at 5:30 and began hiking at 6:30. The meals and schedule were always on time which was huge so that we could count on having our meals. I booked an 8th day trek to the Huayhuash cordillera with Amazing Huayhuash. If you ever plan to explore the Andean mountains in the Huaraz area, they are the ones to go to.

We had the most amazing team. Steven, (our guide) and the rest of the crew (carriers and porters) were professional, well-organized and attentive to our needs. They knew how to adjust to the situation where some of us had lower pace and needed more time to get through the hiking. This made the trek go well and so we could witness each day the most gorgeous sceneries. Special kudos to Cesar, our cook, for cooking the most delicious meals. we had the luxury of having warm homemade pancakes for breakfast and even a delicious ceviche for lunch, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
