My sister Erin and I took an amazing 4 Day/3 Night Amazon tour with Manu Wildlife Peru. Before coming to Peru, I researched many online Amazon tour reviews for various companies. Right away, I liked Manu Wildlife Peru because it sounded like an actual, authentic Amazon experience. I was finally sold when I saw how deep you could go into the Amazon - and stay in a treehouse! I’m so glad I did! Touring with this company was the highlight of our Peru trip. Our guide, Fidel, started the business with his mom and brothers seven years ago and it’s a tour service that’s known for responsible Amazon trips. They have done an amazing job coordinating details - from meals to treks. We started the trip early on June 8. The road trip from Cusco to Atalaya took 9-10 hours altogether; winding roads overlooking the Andes mountains and Inca/Spanish villages (our driver, Jimmy, was awesome!). The trip didn’t feel long though because it included stops along the way, including monkey and bird sightings and a lovely visit to a local wildlife sanctuary. When we reached Atalaya, we went two hours downriver by motorboat (driven by Fidel’s brother Saul) to Palotoa Teparo where we met the rest of Fidel’s family. We stayed one night in a bungalow and ate a delicious meal. The next morning, we went by peke peke for another hour into a deeper part of the jungle where Fidel and his brothers have built several amazing treehouses and wooden walkways not far from the river. I was expecting basic rooms, but they had thought of everything - from solar-powered outlets to a spring-fed shower. The room was also so clean and included a toilet, sink, two comfortable beds, and mosquito nets. We spent two nights in our cozy treehouse, the rain tapping the tin roof at night and the sounds of birds and insects in the jungle. Those were two of the best nights of sleep I’ve ever had. Fidel had awesome treks and activities planned each day. One morning, we walked to the river and hid to watch macaws visit the clay lick. While we waited, a jungle cat called an ocelot passed close to our hiding spot. We didn’t see it, but it walked in our footprints. Another day, we took a three-hour hike up the mountain to overlook the river. We saw huge howler monkeys and macaws on the way. Fidel also showed us different plants that can be used for treating spider and snake bites. In addition, one of my favorite parts was a night trek to look for tarantulas, frogs, and other spiders. In between treks and some downtime, we ate delicious Peruvian dishes that Fidel’s sister-in-law Veronica cooked. During mealtimes, Fidel also told us stories about other Amazon animals like jaguars, boa constrictors, anacondas, and black caimans! Fidel’s family so kind and welcoming and Fidel was the best guide we could have asked for. Not only was he energetic and professional, he had a great sense of humor and could answer any question we had about the jungle. And you can also tell how passionate he and his family are about conservation efforts and wildlife. Erin and I were both sad when the trip ended. We hope to go back and do the 8-Day Tour next time! If you’re looking for an authentic Amazon experience and the opportunity to stay in a real treehouse, go with Manu Wildlife Peru! Best decision we made during our Peru trip.

We did the 7 days Manu Reserve Tour and enjoyed it a lot. We were a group of 4 people, apparently they don’t do too big groups because of the wildlife, which we appreciate a lot. Everyone got to see the flora & fauna that we crossed and we could listen to the information without problems. The program on the website is a bit outdated, so don't be surprised. Be mentally prepared for some long travel days, which are not the most fun thing, but you can keep looking for wildlife, rest, or entertain yourself otherwise. This was not our first ecotourism destinations, and to be honest, at first, we had expected more abundance of mammals in the Amazon. But at the end of our trip we were really happy & satisfied with what we saw and experienced: We saw a Jaguar 😍 which was our main wish 🙏 We saw lots lots of birds, giant otters, 1 Kapiwara, lots of insects and Caimans. To all the bird lovers: this is the place to visit! 🩜 We slept in 3 different accommodations that got more comfortable each time, ending with the Tree house Inn, which just blew my mind 😍🛖 Our team was very nice. Julio, the boat driver, made us feel very safe. Paolino, our cook, was very fun & created some delicious plates. Wilfredo, our 'man for everything', was a gem, spotting animals from a far and being a helping hand whenever he could. Michel, our guide, was very knowledgeable and infected us with his love for birds. 🐩 🩜 Another thing we really appreciated is the little surprise from the company, that is, compared to others, a good quality product â˜ș Additional infos: Pack sunscreen, Deet bugspray, watersandals (for showers & night), long clothes to protect you from the bugs and a wind breaker as it can get chilly on the boat in the morning and evening. Thank you again to the team, a unique experience that we really enjoyed.

My 5 day jungle adventure tour was such a wonderful experience. I was very last minute (two nights before the trip) with deciding that i was going for a jungle trip. Fidel, the owner, was very helpful in his communication.

The pick up was perfect in time, the bus was very comfortable and the trip to the park is long but fun! During the drive you will get enough stops at nice places. The lunch break especially!! You will see hundreds of hummingbirds during this lunch!

Also the boat tour to the Treehouse Inn didn’t feel like a travelday but it was already part of the experience. The Treehouse lodges itself were just amazing. Imagine yourself sleeping 4/5 meters above the floor in an open (insect proof) treehouse sleeping with all the jungle sounds. Truly truly amazing experience! The house itself is very clean, well maintained and above all a has very nice shower! I wish i could sleep with the jungle sounds everyday, such a special place.

the day/night activities are a pleasant variation of jungle walks, boattrips, early morning clay lick visits (to see the magnificent birds) and floating on the river in a tire. The tubing was unexpectedly a highlight of the trip. Floating on an amazon river with all the jungle sounds and beautiful views was such a tranquil experience, truly wonderful.

I was very impressed by Our guide Benjamin, his eyes could spot animals so easily, very impressive. Also his knowledge of the flora and fauna was very well. Beside his good guiding skill it is also a very nice, funny and kind man! Thank you!

Oh, not to forget: you will get spoiled with food. Our cook Herman with 25 years of experience made every breakfast, lunch and diner a small party to look forward to.

I highly recommend the 5 days over 3 days. Of course time and wallet wise it should fit but its worth every second and penny to stay a bit longer and let create this jungle bubble for...
