Responsible, Professional, Knowledgeable ,Personable , Enjoyable to travel with is a short summary of my experience with Christoph. I am planning my third trip with Christoph now, and my 8th or 9th to Peru over the last 25 years or so. Having spent time with Christoph in 2019 and 2020 Birding and Herping wildlife viewing and enjoying local peoples and cultures of the Amazon with Christoph, I cannot say enough good things about him and the experiences and wildlife I have seen. I tell Christoph of my target species and schedule , always way to much, and he works on making an itiniary that will give us the BEST POSSIBLE chances. At 74, I am a bit older then many birders and herpers traveling and staying in remote or not well equipped lodges , Christoph lets me know the choices if any , and tells me it may be to tough and we have to find a more suitable destination. His recommendations have always been good. Christoph also knows many of the trails and advises me that on night hikes I should or should not take certain trails because they may be to difficult and after seeing them in day light , I RESPECT his good judgement and I am in good shape and spirts for my age. Safety always comes first with Christoph, either in the City of Iquitos or in the forest camps and lodges on the tributaries of the Amazon. His knowledge of Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, and other wildlife is amazing . He is always , always , looking, does not give up and makes me aware and explains other things of interest such as plants, spiders, butterflies , crypt insects. Another reason I enjoy Christoph as a guide and traveling with him is the great way and respect he shows people in the city and forest. He is well known and respected and liked by these people and is multi lingual. Christoph belongs to locale birding groups and clubs , in touch with people of the forest and other guides , always learning more about nature , new locations , sightings and useful information. I am looking forward to 2021 and another amazing trip with...
Read moreChristoph and his team were incredibly friendly and professional. The boat was very stable and even had solar panels for shade and charging. We stayed in the village of Chino within the Tahuayo, where the host couple was exceptionally kind, offering fresh juices and different meals daily. In the jungle, we relied on the host for both pathfinding and boat navigation. The entire village was warm and welcoming, and the animals in the jungle were shy, making the journey both safe and comfortable. Christoph’s passion for the Amazon’s ecology and wildlife was clear, as was his enthusiasm for the city of Iquitos. Listening to a European immigrant share insights on colonial history was truly...
Read moreChris's passion and knowledge for the wildlife and their enviroment is inspiring and contagious!! We were very happy to have him guide us through the deep peruvian rainforests :) We love his style of guiding - humble, good mannered, calm, organised and determined! He carries around in his tablet a collection of PDFs in multiple languages of animal identification to show us what we've seen, we could tell that he really puts in his best in learning about the animals!
Our group of 3 were a mix of herps and birds enthusiasts and Chris was able to spot and show us many interesting species and many lifers for us :) Next time we'll be back for anaconda and...
