Camped for 2 nights here in candaraman. 1 night in patawan and last night in balabac town proper. The island is okay. I think those in el nido are better. The tours in balabac are not yet organized. Imagine, people fight over tents and huts. The tours do not start on time. They would tell you that call time is 5am, but you would actually leave shortly after 9am. Only few boats are available carry many tourists to and from the islands, so what they do is they meet you halfway - you transfer to another boat in the middle of the sea, bringing your belongings with you. Some have wheeled luggages with them. Also, food was not enough for all of us in the group. As a group of 10, what was served was only for 6. If there were more boats, more food and supplies can be brought to the islands. Communication between the organizing staff was also very difficult. There A LOT of misunderstandings. Itinerary changed on a daily basis. What was said the night before would not be followed. It depends on the availability of boats as they tour agencies accept a lot of tourists more than they can accommodate. So if the boat is not available as they are still picking up new group of tourists, you have to wait and would leave after lunch for your islanding hopping tour for that day. The tour gets shortened that way and only 2 islands would be visited. Overall, I do not recommend the island hopping tour in balabac since it's still in its early days. For us, it was more of a hassle than a vacation. The 5 day 4 night package was expensive since it was not relaxing for us. Maybe in few years, they will be more organized and more boats will be available. Lots to improve on. Hope the local government would provide more budget for this industry since Palawan is a well known tourist...
