Mt Tenglawan Summit — Local services in Benguet

Mt. Tenglawan is located in Bakun, Benguet. It is the 2nd highest but most difficult to climb among what is known as the Bakun trio. The route is very steep. And worse, going back to the jump off site which is Poblacion, Bakun, you realise you have to climb another mountain. It is much better to go there early so you could be at the peak at about noon. Mid afternoon, a thick mist goes up, covering the view at the rock with the cross on it and you'll have to content yourself with taking pictures with the mist aa background as i did. During the pre-rainy season, these mists could bring showers. I definitely had a difficulty getting down the mountain because it was slippery, the ground being covered with thick accumulation of dry pine needles along with the dry loose soil and rocks. At some point, i had to take off my socks resulting to an injury on my right 2nd toe. It turned black but looked normal again after i let it bleed. Weeks later though after 2 more hikes, while cleaning my nails, i found out the lower tip was pushing upward. Had no choice but to remove the entire nail. Oh, the joys of...
