Love, love, love the place! Such beauty of both the island and the people. Too bad the reputation preceeds how peaceful the province is. I vow to help dispel misinformation about Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. If you want solitude, peace, and a place to relax and forget all your troubles, this is the place to be. Please don't scrimp on giving tips to services, and do not haggle with prices especially in the market. They badly need it and they are more than grateful to show appreciation to these small gestures. Me and my 3 kids (5yo was the youngest) stayed for 3days, 2nights without any military escort. "Bongga ka Bongao!" This is my top favorite place at the moment. The locals are very nice and friendly. You will always feel at home. There are a lot of places to visit like Bud Bongao and MSU, where you can find the Pink Mosque. The Museum is also a must-see , especially if you are a marine and oceanography enthusiast.
