I climbed Mt Talinis Aug 1 and was very lucky to have perfect weather conditions. Just a day hike so it was too tiring for me to summit… I’ll have to come back to do a nice two day hike to really enjoy and this time hopefully summit! Thanks to my guide Glecerio Chris D. Gonzalez for the safe trip, for lending me some gear šŸ˜… (impromptu climb so I was unprepared), for good humor, and for his patience while I took a 1 hour nap at the lake campsite after lunch. 18.2kms traverse 5 am start at Valencia jump off 11am break time at Nailig Lake 4 pm end somewhere south west 1hr motorcycle ride away from Dumaguete city Warning: the sulfur smells bad. When you get to the sulfur area please be careful not to inhale it too much!! Gave me a headache. Warning 2: going down is treacherous I thought it would never end but it did and I got home on timeāœŒļø Warning 3: make sure to bring food that doesn’t spoil easily. My lunch spoiled 😢

The squad went there last April 1, 2021 for a dayhike. We were 14 in the group. We had 2 tourguides with us. Schedule reservation was needed and guide fee is paid after the hike. It was fun at start but as the trail goes on, challenging paths were crossed. It’s the trek that would really drain your strength and test your body’s endurance. It took us 5 hours going up and 4 hours going down. The overall trekking journey was satisfying and fulfilling even though the weather was not good. It was fogging and raining but we still had a great time. As they say, the best view is seen after a tough climb. This was not an easy trek so if you plan on going to Mt. Talinis, make sure you do physical exercises for a month before the climb. That’s it! I hope this helped! Amping! ā¤ļø

My first hike at Mt. Talinis was such a memorable experience. I joined a group organized by Sir Emman, and I was actually the only girl—but I never once felt out of place. We had three guides with us, which made the whole adventure much easier and more enjoyable. Because of their support, I didn’t really feel the hike was that hard at all. The scenery along the trail was beautiful, from the mossy forests to the cool mountain air, and every moment felt worth it. It was the kind of hike that makes you appreciate nature even more. Overall, it was absolutely worth it, and an experience I’m really happy I took on.

The ascent up Mount Talinis was a journey of the body, mind, and spirit. As I embarked on this arduous trek through the lush forests of Negros Oriental, I was filled with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. The promise of breathtaking views and natural wonders beckoned me forward, while the physical challenge ahead loomed large. The initial stages of the climb were exhilarating. The trail wound through dense vegetation, the air thick with the scent of pine needles and damp earth. With each step, I felt a growing sense of connection to the natural world. The rugged terrain demanded my full attention, forcing me to focus on the task at hand and leave behind the worries of everyday life. As I ascended higher, the physical demands of the climb became more intense. My legs ached with fatigue, and my lungs burned with exertion. Yet, the rewards were abundant. I was treated to stunning vistas of the surrounding countryside, the emerald green rice paddies and the shimmering expanse of the ocean stretching out below. One of the highlights of the climb was the discovery of the sulfur vents. The acrid smell of sulfur filled the air as I approached the steaming fumaroles. The sight of the bubbling mud and the hissing steam was both awe-inspiring and intimidating. It was a stark reminder of the raw power of nature. Further up the mountain, I encountered two cascading waterfalls. The crystal-clear waters tumbled down the rocky cliffs, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. I took a moment to rest and soak in the beauty of these natural wonders. The sound of the rushing water and the cool mist provided a welcome respite from the heat and humidity. Finally, I reached the summit of Mount Talinis. The view from the top was simply breathtaking. The world stretched out before me, a vast and intricate tapestry of green and blue. The clouds seemed to brush against my feet, and the distant horizon was a hazy blur. I felt a profound sense of peace and tranquility as I stood on that lofty peak. My ascent of Mount Talinis was a challenging but immensely rewarding experience. The physical exertion was demanding, but the rewards far outweighed the hardships. The breathtaking scenery, the natural wonders, and the sense of accomplishment that came with reaching the summit made it an unforgettable adventure. I will cherish the memories of that day for...
