I found Panglao island massively overrated. Alona beach is beautiful but the road to get down to it is overrun with trikes and vans and people trying to sell you tours. Same in the high street! Loads of building work going on at the moment so piles of rubbish everywhere, locals pissing openly in the streets (one of the few places in the Philippines that I saw often in Panglao) It's a good location to stay, where you can do island hopping, tours to Bohol, and lots of other things, but the town itself is not a nice place to spend time in. There's a good selection of restaurants and bars, not really any other shops though in the main part of town. There's also regular black outs with no power.. most places have generators but some don't. We had 2 days in one hotel with no power or water!? And this happens pretty much every week the hotel owner said. The place could be awesome, if instead of trying to build loads more hotels to make money.. money was put into infrastructure and making the town look nicer, cleaning it up. Considering how many tourists were here I was just surprised at how trashed the town was itself. There are many other nicer places in the...

We were lucky to have visited the Island of Panglao, Bohol. We are from a city situated on top of the mountains of North Luzon called Baguio City. After being locked down, zero travel because of the pandemic. 2years of locked down was saddening. Then provinces beging to open its doors to tourists. Our chance to travel, for the 1st time since the pandemic started. We planned to have a week vacation in the Island of Panglao. When we arrived we only saw a few tourist. We got to visit amazing beaches in the island. too beautiful, too many reasons to love the place. Beach hopping, island hopping, country side tour, swimming and never leave the island without trying to dive and swim with the wall of sardines and other fishes. Its a whole new worl once you go under the waters of Panglao. It is hard to describe the beauty of the island, its best for you to visit and see, be amazed with what the Island of Bohol...

Amazing little spot in Bohol... friendly locals, beautiful white sand beaches... good for snorkelling and some island hopping snorkel tours available. Big diving location and attracts a huge Korean tourist crowd. Alona beach is the spot to be if u want to meet other tourists and eat fresh seafood bbq on the beach. Very alive all day and late night. You can then escape to the Northern side of the island to escape the tourists and chill out on Momo beach and snorkel. You can also step away from the beach and check out the native tarsier primate species or spot the...

Tourist and Social Scene is Pretty. Islands are beautiful but TOURISM regulations, the lack of it rather, can be off-putting. Tourist-prices can be costly Food is REALLY GOOD BUT expensive Island hopping safety and environmental measures are poorly imposed. People are nice. Overall, this is a beachcapade for those who love night life, party, beautiful crowds, and just chillin in the beach. ALONA beach is open for everybody. You'll enjoy people-watching here and the sand is pretty.
