Destination: Mainit Springs
Location: Montaneza, Malabuyoc, Cebu
Traveler's Guide: It would be a long travel from Cebu City since Malabuyoc is on the most southern part of Cebu. We have 2 destinations going to south so we stay in Alegria. You need to take a bus at Cebu South Bus terminal going to Alegria for 138php. From Alegria you can take a bus for 10 php or from Cebu South Bus terminal to Malabuyoc for 140 php then a motorcycle is waiting for them to take you to Mainit Spring for 50-100php.
Where to Stay? Mainit Springs offer cottages and rooms where you can stay overnight for 500php to 1200 php. Since, we stay in Alegria we go to the most affordable place to stay which the folks there refer us to Chan-Chan logde, their fan room rate starts at 150php per night, the aircon rooms are 500php per night. Other rooms for groups (4-8 person) are negotiable. They also offer car/van for rent at a negotiable price dependent on the location you where travelling.
Mainit spring offers relaxing and calming tempered waters. The Mainit Springs consist of 4 pools, the first 2 pools has a temperature ranging to almost 50 degree Celsius and not recommended to to bathe unless you want to cook yourself. No worries, there is 2 other pools with 39 degree Celsius that is suited to be relaxing, I enjoy myself dipping on warm spring waters of Mainit springs. Since the pool can handle limited people due to it's size, I highly advise to go during Saturday...

Looking for a hidden gem in Cebu where nature’s warmth meets tranquility? Mainit Spring in Malabuyoc is the perfect escape!
We were amazed by the naturally warm waters, flowing straight from the mountain — perfect for relaxing tired muscles. There are different pools with varying temperatures, so whether you want it lukewarm or steaming hot, there’s one for you. The lush greenery around the area makes it feel like a true tropical retreat.
What we loved: ✔️ Affordable entrance fee ✔️ Peaceful and uncrowded (great for family or barkada trips) ✔️ Easy trek to reach the spring ✔️ Healing vibes from the mineral-rich water
Things to note:
Go early to avoid the crowd, especially on weekends Bring your own food/snacks; a few sari-sari stores are nearby Wear proper footwear; some paths can be slippery

Read moreI visited this place at the end of May this year. I can see work is still being done. However, be great if what I recommend below get prioritised to hopefully help attract more visitors to enjoy this place.
Create a separate pool where the natural cold and hot water mix. The hot pools are so hot you can't even enter it! I should have experimented and bought a raw egg in the sari-sari store by the entrance and put it in the water. I could be certain in would have gotten cooked really quickly.
The natural cold water pools should be cleared of the soils so that they can be deeper one can properly dip in them.
Prices:
Parking for cars= Php 50 Entrance fee per person= Php 50 Toilet usage= Php 5 to urinate Php 10 to poopsie Shower= Php 10
Hope this helps to attract more visitors...
