DALTON PASS MEMORIAL (BALETE PASS) 📌 Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya
The inscription in memory of the fallen at Dalton Pass reads: "THIS MONUMENT MARKS THE SITE WHERE 17,000 MEN OF THE JAPANESE IMPERIAL ARMY AND 2,000 FILIPINO AND AMERICAN SOLDIERS LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES DURING WORLD WAR II, 1945.
MAY THEIR SACRIFICES NOT BE IN VAIN AND MAY THIS MONUMENT SERVE AS A SYMBOL OF PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN OUR NATIONS."
This inscription serves as a painful reminder of the lives lost during the battle and as a tribute to the sacrifices made by soldiers from all sides.
Let there be no more wars!
