We got the excursion package where one of the side trips is to go to the sandbar of the little version of Sta. Cruz island. Since this island is also used by the military, you can really just stay in the sand bar and take photos and that is all you can really do. Our tour guide, Errold, told us that it took years for the LGU to rehabilitate the island for us to enjoy the fine sand again as it used to be filled with broken corals due to dynamite fishing. Currently, the LGU and local tour agencies are doing their best to practice sustainable tourism by not allowing any single used plastic on both islands.
