Read moreTo all that have seen few places or airports around the world, this may seem like a regional little cute airport. However unwilling to help staff and rude ground and check in personnel turn you awe into nightmare. When approaching the check-in counter don't smile as no one will smile back, don't talk and silently pray they will take your luggage and forget it, if you have 1 kg or more of your allowed baggage. They will automatically turn you down - this time with a smile! You will then have to scramble in the middle of airport, reorganize your luggage. Make sure you always have someone with you, they won't let you fly! 1kg for them it's like a crime, it's like you are caring a ton of stuff that with this, the old fart turbo LOT plane won't be able to jet. It used to be fun flying from Jasionka, they used to have a great connections via Frankfurt. Now if you want to fly to let's say JFK, the trip would take you 24-35 hours, with overnight stay in FRA. They keep advertising Newark Airport as NYC airport as they have one good connection via MUC. The only thing they forget to tell you is that Newark it's completely outside NYC and completely not on the way to either Manhattan or Queens forget about Long Island. They frequently rent the space of the airport and there is even a church. Instead of concentrating on flying they like to concentrate on other things. It's pretty much waste of your time looking for good connections. Try Krakow or even Lublin. If you have no choice and need to fly via RZE, please have a lot of patience and be ready to pay more for what is considerably cheaper if you use Krakow or KTW. Good luck. To all the directors of this airport - WAKE UP before it's going...
Read moreThis is the craziest airport I have every flown out of. We were flying to Ireland which is another EU country and expected minimum checks - due to open borders etc.. no such luck/ There are three layers of completely over the top security. I'm not sure what they are hoping to find from regular travelers, but this is another level of paranoia. Layer one : the bag drop which usually takes about 5 mins at other airports , this was a 25 minute operation where they also check your passport (which they also check again later) and make several phone calls and do it all in a humorless, over official way. Then Layer 2 where I had to take a young baby out of a harness by woman security person and feed it through the scanner. In addition every baby bottle was tested for narcotics. Straight after us a lady had to be pulled out of here wheel chair. More drugs checks I presume. Layer 3 is passport check again. Another crazy unfriendly and over official person. We had an emergency travel document for the baby. The checker had never seen such a document and he had to ask a number of managers. The whole process took ages but eventually his boss I presume just allowed us through. I'm not sure what the purpose of having all these checks when you are leaving the country from one EU country to another. On entering the country by car, there wasn't...
