Yesterday (27th of June 2024) I was discriminated because of my disability at the check in desk by a redhead young worker who refused to identify herself and whoever was the worker with nr 457 who was standing behind her trying to intimidate me. The situation was that I had booked assistance to go through the airport and go up and down the plane stairs. I went to check up, was already received with rude attitude, holding my passport just for the sick of it. I answered all the questions even tho I just needed someone to move me from the check in point, through the airport to the plane. I was informed that the lift to go up to the plane is not working and that I'll be forced to use the stairs, something I can't do. There was no offer any help or anything, just making remarks that this is what it is because is broken and I just need to deal with it myself. I got frustrated and mad because of the treatment, lack of explanation and the rude attitude and comments towards me. To make my life even more difficult the girl decided to change my seat "because of company policy". Policy that in my case due to my injury is making my situation and pain worst. So she decided with her college to force me to change my seat, ignoring that in previous flights with the same company I had the sit C and there was no issues, speaking with the cabin crew or calling Ryanair itself. I was threatened that if I don't accept this change I'll be removed from the flight. I explained my situation to no avail, being discriminated by airport staff after this was just ridiculous. The girl who moved me from the check in point to the waiting area gave me attitude "because she doesn't have 7 arms" to carry me and the luggage. Is not my fault that the "new chairs" they had just got aren't suitable for making her job easier. The rude acting went from there after I explained that I can have the luggage between my legs, even if I was holding already my crutch, the jacket and the purse. There was of course no water fountain I can refill my water bottle and I was told to do it in the toilet or buy a new water bottle at the shop. Was left in a corner without information about what'a going on, what's gonna be the precisure or anything. I had to stand up from the chair, leaving my belongings there trying to find any staff member to get any information, making my pain increase. I was welcome with a judgemental rude ladies who just looked down on me "because they were already informed about what happened at the check in point". The only nice people where the workers what took me on a chair up the stairs. after the land crew insisted that I for sure can do stairs, even though I express that I can't. The flight attendants from Ryanair didn't have any problem accommodating me on the letter C, neither I had this traumatic experience being disabled in any other UK or polish airports. The solution was just to explain that the lift was broken but they have the option of carry me inside on a special chair and don't change my flight seat on the first place. This is an unacceptable behaviour for a group of people who instead of being welcoming, communicative and caring, were rude, condescending and in any way helpful. I ended up with unnecessary stress, pain because of the unnecessary walking or standing trying to speak to people that look over the shoulder at you, giving you smirks, not providing accurate or helpful...
Read moreI am so much pleased after visiting this airport that i had to add my opinion. Since the beggining ppl were ultra friendly . Gentelman from airport- bus : PREWOZY24 was incredibly nice, he waited for me when i called i will be late 10 min, sercurity control gentleman and lady hyper nice, i have no words to describe how ppl are happy to be there and working there, it is visible they love thier job, they are so helpful , smiling, awaiting with pleasure to serve you. The biggest advantage of this place are ppl. I have no idea which agency is hiring them but they chose the bests of the best. Passport control border force - nice smiling, asking questions, even ppl , passangers there are peacefull and nice. No noise, no shouting, no dirt (very clean airport) , toilets , resteurant area, shop area, everything cleaned. Extra i have to say that the staff of airport is very clean and beautiful , they have very proper clothes, shoes. It seems they love that place and working there. Just you have to see it on...
Read moreReally nice airport except for 2 things.
The waiting areas for the departure gates are way to small. There are about 20 seats for a plane that holds 200+ furthermore the seats are laid out badly. Once you enter you have to squeeze between the seats. If someone is sitting on both sides you need them to stand up so you can pass
Before entering security you show your boarding pass and passport, enter a room with 1 entrance 1 exit, stand there in a queue and once exiting you have to show your passport and boarding pass again! Ridiculous.
Nice staff and a tidy little airport, ruined by two very fixable issues
Update: 2 years later still the same, obviously no attention paid to customers problems....
Almost no food available anyway and absolutely nothing past passport control.
Update,
yet again for. The 4th time in a row there is zero food in the departures area past security. The joke that is shark business is closed. Who makes a contract with an airport and...
